  • The original version (of the video) is so much better than the BBC version!

  • ALL My 4 Grandkids are HUGE Beatles Fans ............... It hardly Takes any Brainwashing at all , The Music and Their Personalities are so Great. Actually I start them out with ........ Beatle cartoons ......... Then The REAL Beatles ............. They LOVE them BOTH and so Do My Kids and This Old Grandpa . No there will NEVER again be anything quite like them.

  • I've had this stuck in my head for days...hey I didn't say that was bad! I LOVE IT!<3 They are a big inspiration to me.<3

  • Thumbs UP if you still see this in 2012!

  • there will be no other band like them ever!

  • This is storm rocker, yes it is!

  • you really here the influence of black rock and roll musicians from the late 50s

  • It looks like no one in the crowd even knew they were watching who were about to become the best thing that happened to the world

  • wow everyone else wishes they had a time machine and a camera. I thought I was the only one.

  • why isnt paul dancing, thats not like him

  • @CTCRStudios I think they learned soon enough what looked good onstage. I think Brian Epstein really helped make their image when they got popular.

  • goose step mama

  • @shutdafup It's definitely the trousers...

  • The Beatles Rock !!

  • Looking at McCartney's fiddle bass it appears Hofner were making left handed instruments in the early 60's. I had assumed he chose it because it was symmetrical so wouldn't look odd upside down - still that didn't stop Hendrix playing a Strat.

  • Esta es version de

    Freddie & The Dreamers :)

  • pete best: dude with the worst luck in the world

  • Why are we still listening? Because it is really freaking good!!

  • Thumbs up if you love The Beatles and are Dinosaur years of age. No honestly, does it matter how old you are to listen to The Beatles?

  • cavern club ! i was there :D

  • When I invent a time machine or travel with the Doctor, I know where I'm goin first. *nudge nudge wink wink*

  • THUMBS UP if you love the beatles and you are age 0-100!

  • we all know that Paul Mccartney is alive and well and did not die in 1966 and was not replaced I just think it is unfair that youtube allow people to be slaughtered on their site just because that person is not liked

  • check out this video this is the kind of stuff that is on youtube about Paul being dead....its the same Paul Mccartney in this Cavern Club video

heres the video type in the youtube searchbox above :-

Paul Is Dead Faul is a bad liar

Its very obvious that the 69 year old Paul being interviewed is the same as the Paul in the Cavern Club video the face is exactly the same but Mccartney gets slaughtered on youtube for being a fake and the replacement from 1966 because real Paul died

  • Comment removed

  • ...I think its wrong that people are allowed on youtube or the internet saying someone is dead when they don`t have any proof just some stupid clues on album covers and in songs and photos that have obviously been doctored. The Paul Mccartney we see today is a very hated person and people make their feelings known on youtube they don`t like him that why they call him a fake and that the real Mccartney died in 1966.....

  • ....they say the clues left in Beatles songs and Beatles album covers really point to Pauls death also there was one idiot who said Paul died before the release of the Help Album and he could tell just by listening to Beatles songs after the Help Album that it wasn`t the real Paul Mccartney singing strange that because John Lennon sung the majority of songs. I`ve directed these people to this video and they still insist that the Paul we see today is not the Paul in this video...

  • Why do Americans and I`m sory if I upset anyone here but it always seems Americans insist that Paul Mccartney died in a car crash 1966 and was replaced by a look alike. The way the Paul Mccartney we see today is being treated on youtube about being a fake is is disgusting...there are people saying he should take a DNA test because he is a fake, they say John Lennon was shot dead because he was about to reveal the truth about Paul......

  • Thumbs up if you LOVE The Beatles and 10-17 years of age!

  • @Beatlelove100 Oops! I accidentally pressed the thumbs down button! I'm for thumbs up!

  • @Beatlelove100 I'm actually in a band that play only Beatles songs. I'm the gimmick because i'm the youngest, and the rest are older, in fact the bass player saw the Beatles in 1964 when he was about 9 :)

  • @Beatlelove100 why does it have to be cut at 10? lol i remeber at the age of 5 hearing i am the walrus and falling in love. beatles is for all ages to love and spread.

  • @IAm4SureTheWalrus good point!

  • @IAm4SureTheWalrus I'm not sure why he cut it at 10, but if it was me, I probably would have cut it around those ages, just because 10-17 ish is the kind of ages where kids tend to be brainwashed into listening to Rihanna and Lady GaGa right now... unfortunately. I know plenty of guys who break that though, I went straight from an Anthrax video to this.

  • @Beatlelove100

haha, our friend says why not start at 5 years?! I admit, at 5 i was still into Elvis, probably because of tv-presence and his looks. One month before my 10th birthday Lennon was shot and only then i got to listening to the Beatles, through the "main jock" in class. At 13,when i got the "Beatles Ballads" compilation, i already started crying everytime thinking about their fate while getting into the songs. And it continues to this day

  • @Beatlelove100 iv loved john ever sence i was 4 and now in 12

  • The take is from The Beatles at the BBC records

  • oh my god i'm dying...why couldn't i have been there?!?!

  • I once worked with a woman from England. Her name was Polly. She was around at that time when The Beatles and all these bands were becoming the rage in the early to mid-Sixties. She has nothing but great memories of them. "A fine bunch of lads", she would say, especially The Beatles. She didn't say anything about The Rolling Stones, so...

  • The only Beatle's song that I still loving

  • BBC?

  • I saw this on the Jack Paar show in January 1964, a month before they appeared on Ed Sullivan.

  • ese estilo de john al tocar la guitarra esta cool

  • This was Ringo's second show with them after Eppy fired Pete Best. John married Cynthia the next morning as she was now pregnant. After this performance, George was head-butted by a Teddy giving him a black eye because there was certain lashing out for firing Pete Best. In this recording, during the cheering, you are supposed to hear someone scream, "We want Pete!" With all that surrounding them, look at their professionalism and composure. "The show must go on." - John Lennon

  • ¡ESTO ES UNA JOYA!

  • i dont know why....but for some reason i pretend that george and john are still alive and i act as if the beatles were still together today....i like my fantasy world better then reality :I

  • @Msgummybear202 Yeah same here, I listen to them so often that I don't think they're dead.

  • @Msgummybear202 I think a lot of people are still hoping for a reunion in some small corner of their brain.

  • greatest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this sound a bit like like Ray Charles what i'd say...must have been an influence

  • Dear God, If you give back John and George we will swap for Justin Beiber, jls, jonas brothers, rebecca black, lady gaga.

  • @sallyg270 Hey be quiet don't even mention those losers here I came here to see the Beatles not those posers. And besides all of the stars today wouldn't even equal anywhere close to John and George.

  • @johnIemon okay calm down :P its not like i like them!. The Beatles are my favorite band. sorry saying to swap modern singers for John and George...i just thought the world would be a better place if they were back

  • Song : Sing Jonh - Video : Sing Paul Fuck love it !!!!!

  • @arkantos020986 I'm sorry, I'm not quite sure if I understand.

  • @909afterone The original song sings john and in The Cavern sings Paul , something like that xddd

  • @arkantos020986 OH. No, actually both of them sing. You can hear Paul's voice as well.

  • wow. nice

  • Great song. Although I did notice that this is the recording from their CD, not the actual performance!

  • ripping guitars.a little like aerosmith.

  • This is nice and all, don't get me wrong, but c'mon EVERY video of the Beatles in the Cavern is this footage, always with early but different audio...

  • The song was a standard back then--every body had to cover it. Leiber and Stoller wrote it, as they wrote countless other hits of the period (google 'em!).

  • 0:55 the very first hipster

  • @fentona92 more like a nerd

  • @fentona92 In fact you were wonering, i was listening to tha "Bheaatals", but you probably havent heard of them of course.

  • who dislikes this video? some people have some real issues....and im not talking about What Car Magazine.

  • Finally I can hear the bass!

  • my grandparents went to see them in '63 but threw away the programme because they didnt think they were going to become anything xD

  • Theres no screaming from the crowd because the sound comes from the Beatles at the Beeb its not the actual soundtrack to the film footage.

  • this video is fantastic aug. '62 signed just a couple months back with parlophone records and next month will record love me do and as they say the rest is history i am pretty sure the tall gent on the left smoking a cigarette is sir george martin the 5th beatle wow he was getting into their music he must have envisioned their greatness even in 1962 !

  • this is a awesome moment because it was the start of the band that made history and created the word peace out

  • 0:46 "Some other guy is sippin' up my Honey like a yellow dog......"

  • those people in the audience r fuckin lucky

  • If it's August 22, 1962, then Ringo just joined the band within the past week and this would be the first ever film - maybe photo. of him with the band.

Is this the original sound, or was it spliced from another performance?

Does anybody know where / how to get the original song recorded by Ritchie Barrett?

  • @ pinchold

some of the reason is because of Paul's Kick Butt Hofner (His Bass Guitar) !

  • T'was the famous concert that made the infamous Beatles famous as f#@k

  • I´m so excited that can´t contain myself from re-re-re-watching every single vid of them. Paul is coming to Chile again and I will stay there no matter what!!!!

  • omg....NIRVANA!

  • even though the video is not quite good, still the voice of john and paul still sounds BEST!!!!! woooo!!hh! party party,, hehe

  • If anybody wants to know the exact date of this concert, it was the 22nd August 1962, just 4 days after pete was fired from the Band and Ringo replaced him.

  • A song they never recorded. Their rejects were better than other bands hits.

  • The audience had no clue.

  • @DayTripper12880 They had more than a clue -- they were mesmerized.

  • @DayTripper12880 Oh and remember that the audio is from a radio studio. Check out this film with the *actual* audio and you'll hear the audience reaction.

  • SURE SOUNDS LIKE THE RATTLES from Germany

  • this is not live this song has been oiver dubbed over this film footage somepoeople on youtube think we are all stupid

  • @mandingman At the end of the original you can hear people shout "We want Pete Best", for obvious reasons this has been dubbed out of official TV broadcasts!

  • John's mike stand has good rhythm..

  • top tune

  • Georges face is at the very beginning of the video, because George played this song to John before he joined the band

  • @CoIeStones Actually I believe it was "Raunchy" that got George into the Beatles.

  • @NorthWriter I cant believe I said that, I must have been drunk I knew that too

  • @CoIeStones Ha ha. No worries. :) As long as you're not one of those "Paul is dead" people, or one of those people who think that, just because John sings "the walrus was Paul," the walrus really WAS Paul, then you're fine.

If you ARE one of those people, well...good luck to you. :)

  • @CoIeStones Clarification: I once knew a guy who thought that Paul sang the lead vocal on "I Am The Walrus" because of that line. Hence my most recent comment.

  • @NorthWriter Lol believe me I dont like those people either

  • KICKASS BASS LINE AND BLUE NOTE SINGING!!!!

  • I always found it strange that that is the only song from that performance that we have on film. Surely they must have played a solid hour or two in the Cavern Club?

  • I love this so much... I want John and George BACK.

  • @2011stockholm $50K in advertising from Capitol Records before their arrival, heavy rotation across the American airwaves and a nation depressed after the assassination of Kennedy, looking for hope to douse the flames of their cynicism with that new hip sound that was inspired by black blues guitarists. Beatlemania before they even landed in the US.

  • I love these guys so muchhhhhh. It's rediculous!!! That Paul is so yummy. If I ran into him back then, before they were famous, I would have still squeeled at the sight of him

  • @blackspace007 spell check ... ridiculous squealed

  • I think this is the Beeb recording of the music, pasted on top of the Cavern footage.

  • No screaming from the crowd and that;s how it should be. But then only six months later the girls were going berserk and even fainting in the audience. What happened? How come? I never heard an explanation. Guess it will remain a conundrum forever.

  • @pinchold you need an explanation?

  • @alisonsdragonfly yes, please

  • @pinchold read jonathan gould's book - can't buy me love the best book out there on the fab four

  • @pinchold that's because of FAME

  • @pinchold There is a book out which puts forward this explanation: that the 'Beatlemania" behavior started occurring after John (according to a statement made by John's friend Tony Sheridan who quoted John) sold his soul to Satan in exchange for immense world fame and massive success. The book is called, "The Lennon Prophecy."

  • @marvy1118 that sounds interesting. Was it the reason why John Lennon was killed?

  • @pinchold The book does make that connection, and lays out an interesting case for it, according to a book review I read. I do agree that there was probably some kind of destiny/supernatural aspect behind the Beatles phenomenon.

  • @pinchold Well they werent "The Beatles" back then, they were just another band to everyone else.

  • @Cornllama

They were The Beatles back then, most famous band of both Liverpool and hamburg, during their star club gigs earlier that year they already had bands like gerry and the pacemakers opening for them in hamburg, and were the top live act in liverpool.

When they came back from habrug for the first time, having learned to ''Mach Schau'' on the Reeperbahn, the first wave of local beatlemania catapulted them to the top of local bands.

  • @OropherThranduil I guess thats true. But they still werent the world famous band that they were a few years later.

  • @pinchold

Since the Tv team was there the whole day i guess they told them to shut the fuck up, and since this is a small venue and it's still 1962 that was possible, but actually, since when they came bacvk from hamburg for the first time, in the uk the shadows perfomring style was popular, matching suites, dance choreographies, bowing down in unison, and the beatles did 'Mach Schau' fresh from hamburg.

That was the first time the audience rally went wild for british bands in the 60s.

  • @pinchold maybe because girls weren't the main people to hang out in rough clubs and drink like the Cavern Club. it was a man's world mostly back then

  • @pinchold Because when Pete Best was replaced by Ringo, the crowd got angry.

  • @pinchold They "came" to America. You know how wild and crazy we Americans can be when we really like something.

  • @pinchold I think the main reason is they changed their music, it went from being fast-paced and pounding rock to more romantic and heart-melting pop. Songs like 'She Loves You' and 'I Want To Hold Your Hand' are more likely to engender hysteria i think though obviously Beatlemania is still a mystery to all of us

  • @pinchold Maybe because it's not a Cavern version, but the one made in the BBC studio?

  • @pinchold it's because they were bigger than Jesus

  • @ShadowPheonix12 How could they possibly be bigger than something that doesn't exist.

  • @pinchold exactly, they were better than a figment of peoples twisted imagination

  • @pinchold When was the pill invented? ;)

  • @pinchold Six months later they had a hit record and were famous. (And their hair was six months longer. :-)

  • @pinchold there is no screaming because the audio is from a studio recording

  • @michaelaussie1 Just from looking at the crowd you can tell they aren't screaming.

  • @pinchold It's because they could see the Beatles every Saturday night.

  • @pinchold this isnt the original cavern version you can tell its the bbc version in 1963

  • AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHh! im totally obbsesed im sorry i cant calm down their so HAWT! I LOVE THE BEATLES

  • It's soo crazy watching this while knowing what they became. Theyre so my favorite its pathetic.

  • to bad there's a mall where the cavern club used to be. a bronze of the beatles about where the stage was. john's doorway (of the famous shot), just up the alley from there has a bronze of him in it. that'll probably be there for a while.

  • Beatles music - MORAISITO AMOR BIODEGRADÁVEL - the best

  • i like the actual live preformance more

  • its no wonder the sound is so great...this is overdubbed with a studio version and is not the original live performance...great vid anyway...!!

  • Hell man they were a tight band... what a great performance !

  • who are the 9 wankers???

  • I know what you guys are saying, I just find it weird that everybody only knows 3 or 4 songs. I don't hate them, I just find it strange that their Beatles knowledge is limited.

  • I know over 400 of them

  • RINGO!

  • HTprods, I love all Beatles songs too, I just like getting deeper than most.

  • MAGNIFIQUE !!!!!

  • When everyone at my school thinks of The Beatles, they think of " Hey Jude" or "Hello, Goodbye". When I think of The Beatles, this, along with "Twist And Shout" and "She Loves You", are what come to my head.

  • @Bluefirefoley All those songs are great! There's no need to diss other beatles songs. All beatles is awesome. I'm 13 and I love Early Beatles and Late beatles. It's all fantastic. I've got every album and all the singles and b-sides on my IPod.

  • @Bluefirefoley Please, least your school knows that they sing those songs, my school is just like " What? Those hippies from like the 30's ? " I feel like punching them, but I know better then to defy someones opinion like that.

  • From the 30's LMAO! WAY WAY TOO EARLY. THET WOULD BE SUPER FREAKY AND THEY WOULD BE LOCKED UP FOR BEING WICHES OR SOMETHING LMAO!!!

  • @GARYVism Ikr. I was like e.e Dude.... 30's? I dont even think Elvis is that old....

  • The girls weren't yelling yet...

  • @maspavan They were in this original video clip. It's just that the user who uploaded this video replaced the original sound with a recorded one by the Beatles that they recorded for BBC radio

  • But not in any official album from Please Please Me to Let It Be.

  • Who are the stupid ppl that press don't like???

  • No. The song was never recorded on any of their albums.

  • @cometandcupids It was released on a the Live At The BBC album. Also they recorded it during the Decca sessions.

  • Too bad they never recorded it and put it on their records. It would have been a hit.

  • @cometandcupids This song as far as i know is not available on a album version

The only version of this that i have is on the Beatles Anthology I agree with you it would have been a hit

  • Was this a cover or what?

  • Man they shoulda put this on Please Please Me

  • THE AUDIO IS FROM THE BBC RECORDINGS

  • THIS IS LATE 62...RINGO ON DRUMS AND THIS IS NOT THE AUDIO FROM THAT DAY...SOMEONE OVERDUBBED ANOTHER LIVE PERFORMANCE WITH THIS VIDEO...NICE JOB THOUGH....SEEMS MORE LIVE

  • Wow... really brilliant sound! Amazing!

  • And thats where it all started :)..... THE BEATLES FOREVER!!

  • This is so bitchin I can't control myself!

  • how rockin an r&b combo they were and so young

  • @peeeons

gargle my jello balls, Beatles are the best.

  • asi comenzo el john XD

  • It dont get no better than that.

  • I prefer the Pete Best Combo version to be honest.

  • it's just a pity the sound engineer liked to play with the reverb on the mics! :(

  • they should come out with a cd of all these old songs, a double package with a dvd of all the cavern club videos

  • very special song !!!!!!!....The beatles forever!!!!!

  • cute!!!! :D

  • lovely!

  • The "Live at the BBC" audio is the same performance. The video you most commonly see has worse sound because that's what the camera's microphones are picking up. But the "Live at the BBC" audio was directly from the mics onstage.
