and all i have to say about this, is you came to a trot before a few fences... i dunno if you asded for it of if your horse just broke, but i think it would be better to keep at a canter. good riding though(:
ahhh ur first time doin novice oh well im doin the may 31 event there its my second time doin intro last one was not so good but olde hope is nice and calm and small GREAT JOB U LOOK GREAT
very nice:) doesnt look to bad..i noticed at one or two of the fences, he hesitated to what would look like it could be a stop, but went over. You may be tipping forward before he takes off, causing him to slow at the base of the fence. i could be wrong tho (it was hard to see b/c of the distance out) :) but other than that...nice course :)
You look great together! If you want some advise I'd stay get her cantering and in a good rythem well before the start, and if she lands on the wrong legs just do a quick transition to trot then back into canter on the correct leg. Well done for 4th, you've got a cute lil pony! xx
I tend to take the first jump at a trot usually due to the fact that she is ahorrible rusher. this video was taken last year and she has improved. she does flying changes or simple changes by herself (lol) if she thinks cantering off on the wrong lead unbalances her too much. very smart little thing! thanks for the note. :)
hey constructive critisism! let ur reins go a tiny bit!! this way he has a soft mouth!!! also give over jumps a little more!!! it will make it look like hes a simple pony!!!
oh I'd absolutely looooove to give my pony her head. unfortunately this is not the case! she's a very strong girl who rushes the jumps. she just loves it too much.. -.-
i totally understand....what if u tried to do lots of flatwork with giving her head to the buckle!!!! try controling w/ seat and legs..then she will know what u mean when u get out on the course!
she's a weirdo for sure. she has her days, and I can control her with my seat when possible. I guess you would have to meet her to understand her! She's a legit pscho. I've worked with lots of instructors and we are improving (can you imagine? she used to be awful just on the flat). She's generally fine doing flat/dressage work but even then she can get worked up easily. thanks though!
Can you show jump in a black saddle? Because, I have heard before you should in brown but does it really matter? Can they take points of like hunters or what? I am new at the showing thing can someone help me out?? thx
I do! Brown probably looks classier, but you can not get points off. Stadium jumping is based on your speed going through the course, and how many rails you knock. Same goes with Jumpers and Show Jumping!
Yes, because the times in this event were so jumbled together I barely had even 5 minutes from Dressage to Stadium.. so I dressed up in my cross country gear before stadium. However I usually just do that anyways ;)
were you there for the oktoberfest?

Pretty small jumps for Novice. Pretty though. Your horse is built a lot like mine. You wear a vest for stadium?

The jumps were on the smallish side.
Thanks!
