I feel that putting out promotional videos of people with sories like "my life turned around once I realized it was ok in my budget to give 10% of my income to the church" is a major hint that these people are in it for the money. where in the bible does it say that you have to give a substantial amount of your income to churches in order to be a "good christian" or a good person for that matter. it all seems fishy to me, they are tax exempt, and she drives a 80,000 dollar car.....
@ClorophyllFilms I was where you are on the whole tithing thing not more than a year ago. It was only in desperation that I started giving to the church at the level I felt God wanted me to give. After about 2 months of faithful giving, my personal finances started turning around. It was as if the floodgates started opening for my family. I wouldn't have believed it had it not happened to me personally. I still have to work hard to improve my situation, but I at least know what to work on.
@ClorophyllFilms You're wise to check out a ministry or charity before you give so you know that most of what they do goes toward the ministry. The best ministers are not out there to line their pockets, but to serve (full-time ministry is not a high-income vocation!). I believe God wants Christians to prosper because getting the Gospel out there does require money. The better we do, the more the message can get out to the world. Just my 2 cents! : )

@ClorophyllFilms Well, that's not a very specific comment. What do you mean? Beth Jones is solid.
