This engine is from a 9-5 or 9-3og which been said before here. And all the newer saabs 9000, gm900, 9-3og and so on have transversly mounted engines (side-side), but not tilted.

The 45° tilted engines were only used in 99 & 900og I think, i.e. the 4-stroke engines and longitudinal mounted instead.

And the reason for tilting the engine is to lower the front, and looking at the engine in the video I don't think it would help with the turbo pipes and that.

Its either a 9-3 or 9-5 engine because it has the black DI cassette with T7(Trionic). The NG900 has a red DI cassette like the 2nd gen 9000s running

T5 engines run fine on black DI cassettes. A T7 doesn't like the red DI, but T5s are fine on black...

you can use a black DI on T5 cars, suposedly makes the engine run more efficiently, just that the DI will give up more quickly than usual.

Dont know about using red DI-s with T7 tho.

b)That's a massive intercooler, unless you're getting mixed up with the oil cooler, in which case; you're an idiot

This thing has definately had some work done, the engine is in wrong, I'm not even sure if it is an original Saab engine, the turbo is considerably larger, definitely a totally new intake and exhaust, and the front-end body panels are missing! Personally, I would never do that, but it is, without a doubt, a good job! And definitely post '87.
