Awesome work !! John Carpenter does not credited enough for his music production. His movies at a young age got me into synth sounds. You got some sweet gear and this bit of fun is simply superb!!!
Hey Man , Your Track is Really amazing and You need to do Something with it ...
I'll go to try to send that to Mr Carpenter Himself , he need to ear that.
Continue with you influence but you must Played your track for a next Good Horror Movie... Take your Chance and send your demo in Hollywood studio and all Horror producers... I think you can make something , that's sure man
@IlBiggo Ha! Thank you. Actually my Guild 12-string is a lot harder to tune than my synths. These are all newly built and have very nice temperature stabilized oscillators. They just need to warm up for 5 or 10 minutes.
John Carpenter need Hear that... I was in a trip Man !!! All this Prophet and Moog Sounds travel in My Head and I love that so Much... Carpenter Music is fantstic and all this synths too. Moog Taurus bass is Amazing... Thanks to this Pleasure
Grandma died and left me a a college fund but instead of going to skool I spent it all on building a studio outside me mums house in the back garden shed. I then filled it chock full of every modern analog synth available and now make music that sounds like it was composed 40 years ago. Mind you I never leave the shack cept to defecate and and eat breakfast when mum calls....sometimes I might shower...cheerio!
Every modern synth demo I hear on Youtube proclaims it's instrument to be "powerful" and "expressive". But it's all just high tech digital swooshing and washes of reverb. The original sound generation methods in the new keyboards are thin and tinny. This is what synths should sound like. Beautiful work.
@mindstormsabrewin Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed the vid. It really is true, the raw power of an analog mono can do so much by itself, no FX needed.
You have a mind-blowing set-up! Sounds amazing...I would never want to leave my house If I had a studio like that...Best wishes and keep up the great tunes!
Beautiful work. Amazing setup. There's something great about hardware based synth music. When you have physical equipment around you you are tangibly connected to what you hear. Computer based sequencing (I use Logic) feels sterile and lifeless. The sounds in Logic are OK but they lack immediacy. And they all sound like they have the same digital sheen to them. No heart. having actual keyboards and drum machines and oscillators, etc., around you makes you feel like a part of the music.
@mindstormsabrewin You pretty much summed up the way I feel. Although plenty of talented people can make great electronic music in a computer, I find myself so much happier in front of physical instruments, not to mention raw, real analog ones :-)
Well done, you've really captured the spirit of Carpenter's work -simplicity was always the key to holding the viewers/listeners in suspense. Similarly, the early German (Berlin) synth-based bands kept to the same style, initially out of necessity (lack of choice in the synth market) but continued with what was obviously both a popular and winning style.
@jazomir Thanks very much. I couldn't agree with you more that this music is all about the careful crafting of simple elements. I've never found it easy to do, but love it when it works.
@1218omaroo Thanks for the nice comment! The Berlin guys were certainly the masters of analog modular synths. I'm just happy to have the opportunity to try and do something interesting with the same type of gear. Cheers!
@mathbsound Thank you! Yes, the sound of pure analog and the direct hardware interface is what matters the most to me. But I sure do get a kick out of the way this gear can light up a room :-)

in your home-studio. all my prefer synths are here
Moog and Prophet are my Prefer , they must be played like that !!!
Do you have or sell some recording? it would be a pleasure to listen the pure sounds of your synths on my stereo...
So this title is just inspiration , it's not a Los.Angeles 1997 track?
