@JoacoLa1 Well thank you very much Joaco !! That is a very kind comment. You are very smart to recognize that drummers have different styles. I really enjoy watching others play and seeing their styles. We are really all different when it comes to style and can always learn from each other....Nick
@paulwall1981 Great question. I prefer nylon tips and normally use them. What is weird is that today I was just thinking about nylon tips vs wood and why I use them. How wild is it that I read your comments after my thoughts?? Three reasons I use nylon vs wood: I prefer the sound when striking cymbals, they don't soften up in time as would tips can and they last longer. It's not that I never use wood tips but I think it is out of habit. Thanks so much for watching and your kind comment.....Nick
@readyeddy101. I to prefer nylons to trad wood tips. I also like the fact that they last longer than wood tips and also the fact that they don't get chewed up like wood tips. What shape tip do you use? I like a rounded or barreal shape tip. What about you? Thanks for keeping in touch keep up the good work.
@readyeddy101. I think rounded or barrel tips give a much sharper sound on both drums and cymbals. But to each his own. When you have tried the rounded tips let me know what you think. I look forward to hearing from you again. Thanks fro your time.
@Zepp3849 Thanks for your comment Zepp. I didn't realize how many I was actually putting in there. It is out of habit from my playing style I quess. I just listened to the studio version again and Densmore puts a few in but very subtley. I will try to eliminate some. I am always looking for areas to tweak my covers once I have the basics down. It's a great tune and one that my band plays out....Thanks Zepp ....Nick
You just have to help me understand why you felt the need to post this...????
You can keep time, but you aren't really a good drummer, and you aren't even playing the song correctly.. you're just playing along to it, incorrectly.
What do we stand to learn from this? I watch drum isolated videos as tutorials by people who can play better than I can...
@meatymeatburger I felt the need to post this because I think it represents the style of John Desmond very well and in my opinion that is more important in a cover than getting note for note. Your opinion of my drumming abilities is quite subjective. You compliment my timing and bash my cover with no specifics. Who is "we"? It is only you who is asking the questions. You should not speak for others. That is disrespectful. You have no drum covers on your channel??? Why??
@meatymeatburger Why do you feel the need to be an asshole. The guy is just playin the drums. Let him be. If you dont like it don't watch it, simple as that. When you feel you have mastered roadhouse blues, post your ignorant comment along with a video post. Until then, leave youtube and go bash your mom for giving birth to you.
@gulu16 Hey thanks for checking the vid out and you nice comment. I checked your FF cover and I liked it. Yeah, sometimes I get off the wall comments but I just laugh at them. I know who I am and what I can do. I don't know them. I got a good one yesterday on my Steeley Dan cover of Reelin in the Years. I was referred to as a beginner drummer. Some people just like to try to get your goat. Check out the vid and you will see the comment back. Keep up your good drumming!!!
@readyeddy101 Internet is a cruel and stupid world. when people hide behind the pc, they feel like they can say anything, so get ready for a LOT more comments XD nice cover, The Doors were a groundbreaking bad!
@djfrank203 Thanks for checking it out and your comments. I checked out your channel & I wouldn't mind being in Italy for right now :-)) Been to San Remo years ago for a bit. You are certainly correct about hiding behind a computer but hey that's them not me. The Doors were unique. Take Care Nick
Hey Readyeddy101 great job! I like your style of playing the drums!
