@Fectent Change is what makes a band weak, instead of making it stronger? Anyband can find one sound and keep cropping out schlock remakes of it, it takes a stronger band to try something new and SP is known for adding new elements to thier music.
@bcolby89 some fans just dont know how to move on, the only band i know that is still pretty viscous in their 50's i listen to is Killing Joke, and thats out of like 50-60 sum artists i enjoy. people should be happy they are putting out quality music with strong lyrics, instead they act like artists like SP should still be cutting chunks of flesh out, being on drugs and having out of wacked out synth and guitar and drum madness all over the place like they did in their 20's and 30's :/
I love the fact that despite the fact they went in a slightly different direction, and have adapted to the times, that Skinny Puppy is still a great band.
Honestly, I don't see how Skinny Puppy could have ever topped TDP and Last Rights if they tried... Those albums were so perfect, so powerful and intense that 20 years later no industrial act has surpassed them. It's better that they went in a different direction, HanDover is awesome for what it is.
pissing on clocks uncertain heavy breathing can it breathe this test is way past stress points pushes buttons full release we changed the world for certain reigning in false profits made we're spending all the future, future's never ours to see HAND IT UP BACK IT OUT put everything back in it's place Stop Loosing Our Position put everything back in it's place
every song off this album has a sample (or soundbite) of another song from previous albums back to the beginning (back n forth) .. crackheads & acid droppers ... probubly caught this but were to high to notice??!? .. first caught it at the beginning of village ...shhhhh.. you can hear the beginning of protest ... .
Not an incredibly large SP fan, but there really isn't anything from them that I don't like. I mean I like each of their albums for different reasons, but there hasn't really been any "bad" album I've heard yet.
too dark park and the process are my favs...puppy went thru a lot of changes between gwotr and process, esp dwaynes death, but ohgr has always seemed to down with the electroey stuff, check out his side proj
@beturner33 Completely agree. I love the trippiness of cEv's sound. :p
Puppy's sound has always been in constant evolution and no album sounds the same. People seem to get attached to one particular album (or albums) and expect Puppy to always sound like that when in reality they'll never sound like it again. This issue plagued has their entire career. Enjoy it for what it is. I'm sure the album will grow on you through time. I first disliked GWOTR when it came out and now I love it.
Like Mythmaker this album seems to polarize puppy fans. You either like the trippy Cevin Key sound or you don't. You not heard this album till you tripped to it.
I miss there old shit like testure there albums are starting to sound shittier to me but yeah thats why i posted this because its like the only good song from the album personally.
I personally like the cd. It sounded like they went back to a mix of the older stuff. The sound architecture is amazing. Give it another listen brother.
@Fectent Ovirt is ok but this is my favorite, the rest of the album isn't quite as catchy over the next couple of months or year or two I'm sure I'll probably have a phase where I fall in love with it. It happened with most of the stuff on Last Rights (Killing Game and Inquisition were the exception-instant like) I just wish that they would have included lyrics with the CD. But this song in particular reminds me of Smog Harp off of DIMD, and various Mythmaker songs. It all seems to run together
@Fectent or who ever Skinny puppy in no way sounds shittier!!! My friend..It's pure brilliance!! Remember if you love the testure elements!! There is a missing mind!!! a missing soul from skinny puppy that help create that!! R.I.P !!! How dare you!!! Thats a insult!!
@Fectent Of course this one is awesome but you have to give it up for Vyrisus, Ovirt and Ashas. They are very intricate in their structure and need more listens. HandOver is IMHO their best work for a long time. Lets support what's left of true industrial so they continue to make more. It may not be their best ever stuff but would you rather they not make anything?

To bad that I don't. Change is what makes a band weak. The sad part is this sounds no different from OhGr so might as well call Skinny Puppy OhGr.

People need to stop comparing this to thier older stuff. It's a different time and a different sound. Respect it for what it is now
