  • i have a 93 cherokee, did you have to fool the oxygen censor ? i havnt installed mine yet to test it

  • less air in the intake can make it run lean

  • a map enhacer would be a better choice, and while your at it why not get more plates, you have room enoph in your container, i have sean you tube vids where people used pool defoamer to release the bubbles quicker.

  • good stuff. i actually bought plans online and am wading through them. i like to think i'm fairly bright, and they say the plans are written so anyone can do this, but man is it ever a lot of reading! lol.

they claim 40-60% fuel savings and i also have a cherokee that i'm putting mine into. mileage went from bad to worse when i lifted it and put the big tires on it. ;>)

  • what plans did you buy? maybe we can trade?!

  • well, i haven't had the setup on very long and i only drive 3 miles to work everyday so it's taking me a while to get results. BUT, i have a similar, but smaller, setup on my fiance's car and she went from an average of 16-17mpg per tank to an average of 22-23mpg per tank.

as far as my cone filter goes... well, yeah i am contradicting the purpose of the cone filter upgrade but that's ok because i'm not really going for performance right now. less air going in = less gasoline needed.

  • actually the eisier the air gets into your engine, the better gas milage you will get. go look up some air intake systems, increases your gas milage a couple extra miles

  • i realize that is what they claim and i'm just testing my own little theory to see if it works. basically what i've found is that it really doesn't work unless your specific vehicle has a mass air sensor which is actually monitoring the air coming into the engine.

  • oh. you would loose a lot of power though. im not too worried about gas, im worried about how mine is 16 years old with all completly stock parts on it. more worried about the rear end. i got it in august, and so far ive replace the water pump, spark plug wires, radiator hoses, stereo with 6 new speakers, and the track bar. i need to replace all of my rear end bushings, the leaf springs and shocks.

  • that's not true, your computer dumps more fuel in and modifies timing to compensate for less air, volumettrically, u want more flow, not less,if u open it back up,after 100 miles the trip scan on the computer will adjust for the hydrogen

  • I'm in the process of building something like this. Have you noticed an increase in the fuel mileage? Also, I'm just wondering if blocking your air filter off is such a good idea...isn't that the purpose of the high performance cone filter in the first place?

  • u got it buddy, by cutting off that air, all he's doing is setting himself up for motor damage w the hydrogen, the computer on the jeep adjusts the air fuel mixture for hydrogen, ideally you dowant it to be fooled and think there is no hydrogen so u can get mielage, look it up everyone do your homework, but dont take this guys example, its a pipedream
