Right, it's an "Inboard aileron", though in function it's really a "flaperon". Because it droops down when flaps are activated, but also acts to control the rolling effect of the aircraft.

That is not fake, I'm sorry. That's what you would see when you were at Kai Tak. Planes performed something called the checkerboard approach where they would make sharp right turns immediately before landing. The airport was right in the middle of the city...literally.

apparently you don't get it... ther is a definite art to flying. especially in planes that big. metal that heavy doesn't just float off the ground. it takes some serious skill. why do you think most airline pilots are retired air force pilots?

lol, the engines and design of the plane is what get it off the ground, the pilot is just their to make sure everything is working. Heck, most flights are all AP, with little input from the flight crew.

And landings with crosswind, not always does it work, it does take skill from the pilot and especially in a place like Kai Tak, crosswind or no crosswind. If pilots were just there to check everything worked then, well... You might aswell get anyone to fly it.
