The genius in songwriting is the blend of individual elements. No one thing on its own was perfect with kurt but put it all together & wow. She is more than several levels below him

The only reason it sounds "bad" is because there's no band backing her. The drums, bass, and Eric's lead guitar fleshes these songs out much more. Which begs the question— WHERE is the band, and why was she onstage by herself?

And I agree, her vocals on "Softer, Softest" are BAD here, but this doesn't represent what she's musically/vocally capable of and it's unfair to judge her entirely on this performance. Look up other videos, she can and has done much better. This isn't a showcase of her talent, it's her high as a kite and deciding to drunkenly crash a music festival. Nonetheless, it's still something only a badass would do. She's one of few in the music world who's lived their art. She's 100% rock 'n' roll.

Man... I saw hole in 94 and they rocked! Pretty on the inside was a sweet album. Live through this, celebrity skin were great albums. And her solo album had some of my favorite of her songs. And I like nirvana too. It's ok to like them both... really

She was a surprise peerformer at the HFStival. The radio station was going to sign Nirvana, but when Kurt passed away...we signed Courtney to play a few songs to also promote the Lollapalooza Tour which Hole was performing in later that summer. The T-shirt was one of those black Kurt Cobain RIP shirts.
