@mastersofurmouth Haven't got the CD32 anymore so can't recall :( but on the A1200 you could boot it by holding the 2 mouse buttons and select 60hz. The console is just an A1200 in a different case, so I'd assume it could do it.
@paulspydar I used a TDK disk, nothing special. Also set it at the lowest burn possible in Nero and turned off the Super burn option. If that doesn't work there's a program called CloneCD which has a game disk option, use that.
@Lorfarius Thanks for the info.. & yes if all else fails I pull out clonecd..I am using NERO ROM 10, is that the same as you? but I think I have been burning them too fast..Thanks for the info..Cheers..:-)
the reason it loads so slow is because the program you use to run these games on defaults disc drive to 1x speed, but you can change it to 2x speed. there's a video of it on youtube here.
cool :) I have another question though. I only recently found out about this and now I really want a cd32. how does this work with saving though? does cd32 have internal memory? and can basically all amiga games be found on these discs? I read over 1500 amiga games can be found on the compilation discs. are games like pirates! and ports of call there? I can't believe how awesome it would be to play all my amiga games on a simple console
@drunkensailor112 The CD32 can save some games to its limited memory but I'll be honest with you I really wouldn't bother with it. The Amiga 1200 is a much better system, can run all the games.
These disks don't have all the Amiga games on them just a good selection yet there's loads which require a kb which the CD32 doesn't have without a £100 expansion kit.
@Lorfarius ok thanks for your help. The thing is like you I really would prefer this way since it would save me a lot of deskspace and it's a lot more mobile
@drunkensailor112 I was the same when I bought the CD32 but after using it for a month or two I became really unhappy with it. The main computer is the way to go, besides if you want to go mobile then consider an A600 as they are even smaller.
Games are loaded in single speed mode because some people had trouble with their CD32 loading in double-speed mode. You can force double-speed mode on by choosing it in the SETUP AND INFO section before selecting a game.
You can't save the game in Monkey Islands 1/2 because the only writable device to save to is a measly 8 kilobytes of ram on a standard CD32.
hey where did you find this compilation, i chose the cd32 over an amiga 500 so this would be a great resource. saves me from buying a huge great amiga 500
Interesting how they managed the Keyboard-controls for this pirated CD. All the Lucasarts/Lucasfilm Adventures need the "F5" Key (and another one) to Load/Save - and of course you need to input a Description for the Save-File. And you don`t need to swap Disks for Monkey II. XD (11...*gulp*)
Wow!! - does the mouse and Amiga keyboard work with the CD32? I'd love to get this little setup - there were so many games there that I played as a kid! ^_^
The mouse does just plugs into the second controller port. The keyboard needs an adaptor fitting to the back though and looking at ebay they tend to go for around £200 a time!
Squeak! What a bummer.. Hey, so games like Civilisation, Colonisation and Frontier may be out of bounds but you could still play your action games and adventures by the sound of it - still worthwhile then. I do miss my Chaos Engine and Turrican!
@Lorfarius if you look on the side of your cd32 youll see a port that looks like a ps2 port that you would find on a pc, amiga keyboards plug in here so you dont need the adapter
loved the video m8, when off on the net and got the whole set, the Team17 comp is brilliant, all there games under one disc :)...thanx for the share with the vid, didn't know they exsisted before your Cast proved otherwise ;)
Mm, if you're not a collector and are more interested with playing games rather than hoarding them, dodgy copies are a useful alternative for playing those rarer titles. Er, not that I advocate such activity. :P Still, I'm glad that you've found a way to get some games going; plenty of material for future videos in there...
Yeah my guilt level is pretty minimal with Amiga games. I have loads of them knocking around none of which are playable without one so the CD32 all the way for me.
It's one of my favourite C64 games. It probably looks terrible now but I was blown away when I first played that....seemed to be way ahead of most other platform games.
Looks like a great collection there, I'll have to have a look for it when I get my hands on an Amiga CD32 again. Glad to see you're getting some good use out of the console!
can u play the games in 60hz if or where applicable?
