Also, you're the first reply of comment on my channel, :3
@DarkVeghetta Russia is actually very strict on their civilian gun laws. It takes several years for civilians to get a license to own rifles. That's why most Russian shotguns are modeled after rifles.
@GhostRider033 Actually, the minigun just uses 7.62x51mm NATO round, which is the military version of a .308 Winchester, a very common civilian hunting cartridge. Now, it does take some very special (and expensive) licenses to own this particular weapon.
@PizzaPirateNinja8128 Is that why the military uses them in their mini-guns? They weren't using tracers because tracers are much more expensive than regular ammo. If they had government funding (or maybe just more money to spend) they probably would have used tracers.
@MyOscarMeyerIsOnFire Tracers are only for combat use, or combat training. They use them to make corrections in their aim, not for style. As the bullets are on fire, this damages the barrel and the internal firing mechanism. Besides, with one of these on the ground, stationary, you don't need tracers to see where you are aiming. Keep the gun intact, and don't show off.
@PizzaPirateNinja8128 If you can explain how tracer rounds may damage the internal firing mechanism of a mini-gun then I'm guessing you probably have a degree in some sort of advanced gun smith academy (which I'm guessing you don't). I'm well aware of the fact that the military wouldn't use tracers to "show off". But I'm also not dumb enough to think they would use rounds that damage their expensive mini-guns either (because they don't). The gun would still be "intact" had he used tracers.
@MyOscarMeyerIsOnFire I am sorry, it appears that I was mistaken. Apparently I had got that information from a disputable source. Either that, or I had mistaken it for another type of ammunition that I currently cannot remember. Sorry again.
@SoulOnDeparture666 That is a rather low figure, most mounted miniguns fire at around 7000 rpm. Man portible ones (A rarity) are geared to fire at roughly 2000 rpm. Miniguns used for missile defence fire significantly faster at around 12000 rpm. Theres no real specific limit to the rate a minigun can fire, but they generally will fire at the least 3 times fater then a conventional firearm.
Of course they won't, because producers think the audience are morons and won't realize it's a real gun if it doesn't go 'rat-a-tat-tat' like 600rpm assault rifle.
@ahmonrah40 Either way you die so I would go with the minigun... It's quicker and less pain.. A shotgun might not kill you first hit but leave you extremely wounded and they may still have to pump it... :S
wait wouldnt having 6 rapidly rotating barrels actually increase jamming? how are the bullets gettin in the firring chambers? or is there 1 chamebr and just six barrels, and god HELP the person that thinks miniguns are gravity fed
@ILikeToShootZombies General Electric (or whichever one it is) has engineered it so well it rarely has mechanical malfunctions. The other thing is that there is actually less factors that would cause a minigun to jam then a single-barrelled gun because the multiple barrells reduces the amount of heat built up on the gun (and therefore much less ware) and the vibration factor on the internals of the gun is irronically less becasue of the ultra-high rate of fire.

imagine if this weapon was used in ww2. 1 guy could kill thousands of charging germans. enemy would be shocked, stunned, and devastated in fear. if survived he would live with mental damage and mental disability. lol
@Q8379 Yeah, in fact the Germans had one of the most advanced machine guns of the time in their arsenal. The MG42 did over 1000 rounds a minute, for that reason it would forever be known as "hitlers buzzsaw".
@MaxFlared I don't mean to troll, but I hope you realize how inhumane and stupid that comment was. I don't even know where to start, but it's pretty obvious you need a thorough education in history, not to mention warfare and the value of human life. The minigun is more of a suppresive weapon than something to kill thousands of people at the same time, not to mention that it would be furthur limited by it's ammo usage and maintainance. Even nowadays, it's sparsely used.
I play PC games and everytime they put minigun there it sucks, because they never get it right....
Gamedesigners oviously like how cool minigun looks with "all that rotating barrels and stuff" and they know that it is powerful weapon, but I never played shooter where minigun would about shooting this fast.
because if it would no boss would be huge enough to survive minigun.
@fordmustang96 Re: Guns like this and we can't win the war in iraq? I Know Right...? Something doesn't seem right, when I see the true power of the Mini Gun. I think if each soldier had one of these, it be NWO.
Yes. O.K. I got it. It's not a .223. I was going by what I read in a book called "Purnell's History of The World Wars Special: The Machine Gun" by Ian V. Hogg and John Batchelor printed in 1976, which mentions the "G.E. Six-Pak". The book said, "This lightweight .223 version may well enter service as a high speed ground gun. weight:26 lbs Rate of Fire: 10,000rpms"
@pixelkatten Full automatic weapons are legal under Federal law if you have the correct Federal Firearms License and pay a (last I checked) $500 tax per weapon (or per transfer -- that is, sell it and the buyer has to pay the tax again). Some states, counties, and cities, however, further restrict possession, making these weapons completely illegal in some areas even though they're legal at the national level.
What makes me laugh is the people who don't get the Team fortress 2 reference some of us are using, and want to try to tell us off on "how wrong our calculations are wrong". lol
realistically it would be a few thousand to shoot that many rounds that fast...for tha long i dont know if it cost as much as to fucking lambos... dont know where the 400,000 figure came from but i could see 4000 easy and it is rarely a .223 5.56 normally its a 308 special or 7.65 military round. please excuse my ignorance on prices
"The XM214 was a prototype 5.56 mm rotary barreled machine gun. It was designed and built by General Electric, but it never reached mass production. Also known as the Microgun, the XM214 was a scaled-down version of the M134 "minigun", firing M193 5.56 x 45 mm ammunition."
@wafflePWNAGE22 Yes. O.K.
@thecarlover09 Yes. O.K. I got it. It's not a .223. I was going by what I read in a book called "Purnell's History of The World Wars Special: The Machine Gun" by Ian V. @busterpiggle It's not .223, it's .308. The Minigun is chambered in 7.62mm (that's why it's called the MINI gun, the original Vulcan was chambered in 20x108mm, so the minigun is a smaller version of it). The .223/5.56mm Gatling is the Microgun, and was only produced experimentally.
@busterpiggle Miniguns are not .223 the smallest is 7.62mm which is a .308 caliber. The man operated version, the m-134 that the military uses has a cyclic rate of 3000 rpm average which is 750 rounds in 15 seconds not 1000. Approx. 50rounds per second. The Maximum it can operate at is 6000 rpm minute but was slowed down for functional reasons.
@hingdingus54 You wouldn't have seen my other posts but I explained my error. I read of a .223 version which wassupposed to go into production but never did. It was to have a 1000 rpm cyclic rate and was dubbed the "G.E. Sixpack".
find out the cost of the ammo and figure out how many shells the gun fires per minute which is 3,000 a minute you do the math and tell us how you came up with $400,000 for 12 seconds
@BlurredFace Well, considering there's only like 2 available on the civvie market in the US, and they probably sell for 50 grand or more... kind of makes your hysteria irrelevant.
The correct answer, btw, is a free country whose founders recognizing the need for their people to be able to take on the gov't if need be. It's what separates America from all those fascist/socialist shitholes (read: the rest of the world).
lol at the start of the vid, you can hear small gun pops in the background, but when this baby fires, all you can hear is noise, continuous, roaring of pain and prejudice.

@Roflzmahwoflz You are resorting to being rude so, of course, you must be correct. Do you deny that a 223 version exists?
busterpiggle 1 year ago
@busterpiggle Ummm.... it was never produced so kind of.
Roflzmahwoflz 1 year ago
@Roflzmahwoflz I apologize!
From Wikipedia ~
"The XM214 was a prototype 5.56 mm rotary barreled machine gun. It was designed and built by General Electric, but it never reached mass production. Also known as the Microgun, the XM214 was a scaled-down version of the M134 "minigun", firing M193 5.56 x 45 mm ammunition."
So I guess this can't be a 223 pictured. Sorry!

@busterpiggle Aight its cool. I was just scared of call of duty buisness.
Roflzmahwoflz 1 year ago
@busterpiggle actually, it fires 1000 rounds in 20 seconds. and it's a .308
gisibah 1 year ago
@busterpiggle A mini gun is not a .223 its a .308 so it more like upwards of $500 depending on the ammo used.

@wafflePWNAGE22 Yes. O.K.
Apparently this gun was never produced.
It would be sweet though....

@busterpiggle 7.62, not .223 or 5.56
MadMonkey572 9 months ago
@busterpiggle Miniguns are not .223 the smallest is 7.62mm which is a .308 caliber. The man operated version, the m-134 that the military uses has a cyclic rate of 3000 rpm average which is 750 rounds in 15 seconds not 1000. Approx. 50rounds per second. The Maximum it can operate at is 6000 rpm minute but was slowed down for functional reasons.
hingdingus54 8 months ago
@hingdingus54 You wouldn't have seen my other posts but I explained my error. I read of a .223 version which wassupposed to go into production but never did. It was to have a 1000 rpm cyclic rate and was dubbed the "G.E. Sixpack".
busterpiggle 8 months ago
@busterpiggle Damn! I meant 1000 rds in 15 seconds.( ie. 4000rpm) So the 1000 rd ammo pack would be depleted in 15 seconds.
busterpiggle 8 months ago
@busterpiggle It shoots 3000 rds a minute, so in 20 seconds it would go through 1000 rounds.

What country would allow this?!? You can't possibly need all 6 barrels for "home defense"
BlurredFace 1 year ago
@BlurredFace Well, considering there's only like 2 available on the civvie market in the US, and they probably sell for 50 grand or more... kind of makes your hysteria irrelevant.
The correct answer, btw, is a free country whose founders recognizing the need for their people to be able to take on the gov't if need be. It's what separates America from all those fascist/socialist shitholes (read: the rest of the world).
