when my neighbor and I were in middle school we got in a discussion with some other people on if matthew shepard type murders were hate crimes. I remember him finally saying something out of complete frustration like 'if the murderers say they killed somebody because they're gay, how could it be anything but a hate crime?'

I worked on the set of " The Matthew Shepard Story " while being filmed up in Canada. I saw Matthew's mother the night we filmed the re-enactment of her son's murder. I had to fight back tears imagining what she must have been feeling at that moment. This Congress Woman needs to pull her head out of her ass and start to breath the same air as the rest of us.
