This is great! I found several coming up from the floorboards into my guest house in the desert in souther Cal. The pincers on mine were bigger, about twice as big. I finally had to call the exterminator and it took 2 trips for him to finally get them all. They are hard to kill! I was afraid to get up in the night and walk into the kitchen barefoot!
@suzys104 u shud lern 2 typ insted of usin text spek notice that was supposed to be irony anyway this little guy is so cute he thinks hes a big tough guy so cute!
I used to find these spiders all the time as a kid, usually on a rainy day. I don't remember them being so aggressive though, the ones I've handled were really low key and shy. This is in Socal, btw
When I was about 10 I was trying to sleep one night and I kept feeling like something was tickling my hand so I looked down and there was a giant sun spider crawling on my hand. It didn't bite me which I find odd so maybe I just got lucky.
These guys dont even have venom but they will bite you if handled and restrained but not on purpose, they are fiesty little fellas tho, i just found one last night and my bf has created some natural habitat for it. These are amazingly clever little spiders also known as a pale wind scorpion :)
camel spiders and sun spiders look the same but are different. camel spiders are a new breed of spider. the sun spider hitch a ride with some soldiers from 29 palms on deployment in the gulf war back in 1991 and breed with an indigenous spider in iraq and now they are multiplying like crazy. have you every seen the movie "arachnophobia"? yeah something like that.
Actually they are not agressive, but if you had just been captured by a giant 100 times yor size and strarted poking you, wouldnt you be pissed off? I have encountered my fair trade of camel spiders and if you leave them alone they wont get near you. In fact, having one in your house aint so bad, they dont eat your food and eat up most bugs and other pests in your house. And in case one gets aggressive, a bite will only hurt, it wont kill you.
@MrFertorresmtz Sorry for the late reply but yes they are. Yes its to defend themselves but they are much nastier then most bugs. Most other bugs will fream out or stay still when caught. Not these guys. They are ready to fight to the death with anything. Some animals act different then other animals. Im not saying these guys are bad. They are just tougher (bad english) and more willing to show their true colors.
@a7xforever187 All the fireworks surrounding the tupperware were actually confiscated from the creature and we had to show him we were serious about enforcing good behavior.
This is a camel spider, which is also known as a sun spider. It is an arachnid, but it's not a true spider. It's called something like solfugea. I probably spelled the word wrong, but it's close.
Haha wooow, he really is aggressive. I had one in my kitchen a few days ago, but it seemed very docile. Probably because he was half dead and crumpled up when I found him, but... those are minor details.
Stupid bitch. go make sum pancakes...
