I have noticed that the Avatars seem to like to use their opposite elements a lot. Aang, for some odd reason, used earthbending after he learned it to an excessive amount, and Korra uses firebending quite a lot.
You were right about the opening sequenece being "Earth. Fire. Air. Wter."
But the people bending are actually past Avatars plus Korra. It's Kyoshi, Roku, an adult airbender (most likely Aang as an adult), and obviously Korra.
Earth is Kyoshi, Fire is Roku, Air is Aang (i saw the opening sequence before it got taken down and aang looked so different! older i guess....).. Man I can't wait to watch the show!

I enjoyed this a lot, it was really cool. There are two things I caught that you should probably know. Sadly, the Sky Bison is not Appa :( After the war, Aang discovered a new breed of Sky Bison. Appa was no longer the last one. The other thing is about why there is so much Fire bending. I don't think she is doing it because it is easy, fire bending is the hardest for her, because she was born in the water tribe. This is why Earth was so hard for Aang. 4 the answer why look at my reply to this
@timmycrem Korra is thought to be a "hot-headed, independent, and ready to take on the world." I personally think that the fire bending seen in the Trailer, is a statement of her personality. She has a very "Fire bender" personality. Can't wait for this show!

the reason she firebends so much is probably representative of the angst and anger she has in her heart and we'll probably see that change as the story progresses.
@spowers8691 I'd bet that is definitely the main reason but I also believe a small part of it is since she can't air bend fire is the most readily available since there isn't always earth or water around.
@shipperlover44 Yepp Aang's dead :'( But he might still have some scenes since Korra is his reincarnation and all. I also hear that his grandson, Meelo, looks like him, is very active, and is also an airbender, so it'll almost be like Aang's still there :D sort of.. :(

I have a theory about Bolin! I think the creators made him specifically like Sokka because he was one of Aang's best friends, creating a parallel episode of some sort. Great job! Though I think you could polish up your grammar a bit. Otherwise, nice! :)

@MrKristoffoles Yes, all the Airbenders (except Aang) were wiped out; however, he had three children (being Tenzin the youngest and the only Airbender) and three grandchildren (all of them Airbenders); maybe they're not even close to what the Air Nomads used to be, but they're the new Air Nomads population; this takes me to the conclusion that every new Avatar born Air Nomad, will be Aang's relative.

The palace in 2:33 looks like the Hagia Sophia, in Istanbul, Turkey. A temple/church/mosque. The creators are going from focusing on Far-East Asian influences like China and Tibet, to other parts of the world, it seems.

Water, Earth, Fire, Air. Long ago, the three books lived in harmony, Then everything changed when M. Night Shyalaman attacked. Only Michael Dante Dimartino, Master of all 3 books could stop him. But when the world needed him most, he vanished. Four Years have passed, and the Internet has revealed the new Avatar, a Waterbender named Korra. Although her bending skills are great, she has a lot to learn before she's able to save anyone. But I believe Korra can save this series.
I never realized that that was Korra at 5:50...I thought this whole time that Bolin! But I see the ponytail sooo I guess you're right.
However at 4:30, look carefully at the first guy that cartwheels across the screen. It's actually Mako, not another Equalist. When you look at it frame by frame, you can see his gloves and scarf, and his clothes in general resemble Mako's. So my guess is that the first time Mako and Korra meet they end up having to fight Equalists.
That island is actually the home of Aang and Katara's son, Tenzin. He lives there with his family. Also, Appa didn't survive the 70 year gap. Bryan and Mike said that after the first series Aang found a breed of flying bison with only minor differences.
@csafreak However, with waterbending you can use whatever moisture is in the air or objects/organisms around you. With airbending you have an unlimited supply at your disposal on land (and I think Aang was able to separate the oxygen from the hydrogen to create air underwater when he got stuck in that iceberg... I can't ay this for sure, though). I think earthbending is the only element with legitimate limits... I just think Korra likes firebending because it makes her look more badass ;)

I remember coming across this leaked pic of the male main characters earlier this year. Can't remember the site but I'm pretty sure one of the guys was named Mako, and he is a firebender.
@Neoblitzer Yes, and Mako has a younger brother named Bolin who is an earthbender. There are plenty of pictures that have been officially released of character designs including Tenzin (one of Aang and Katara's three sons), Tenzin's family, Mako, Bolin, Korra, Toph's daughter (Chief Bei Fong, leader of the Metalbender Cops), Naga (Korra's polarbeardog animal companion) and Pabu (Bolin's pet fireferret). Also there are new species of sky bison and flying lemures :D

I think she firebends most of the time for practice, since being a waterbender it's the hardest one to learn and the last one she learned (water, earth, fire and air)... Just my teory XD
@RozUnderPressure Last one she learned would have been Air. You said it yourself. But she learns Air in the midst of the series according to some sources so your other reasons would be probable.
How can Aang tell her to go learn airbending? When the avatar dies the new avatar is born immediatly. So in this trailer he's already dead for 17 years. Besides, at comic con the developers showed pictures of Korra firebending at the age of 6 or so. So I think she already knew she was the new avatar a lot earlier then 14.
@CyclonicTuna023 Well, with the Aang telling her to learn airbending, it could be like when Aang was on the lion turtle calling up his past lives or when Aang had Roku as a kind of mentor, only showing up when Aang really needed him or when Aang called for him.
@PixiesintheBrugh Maybe, but I a previous avatar can't "tell" her what to do. She can only come to them for advise by meditating an opening the gateway to the spiritworld.
I just want to point out that those were flying bison flying around that tower and that wasn't appa, you can tell because the stripes come down to a point on this bison but on appa they were just stripes and on appa they weren't as red.
I will miss Aang, Katara, Sokka, Sukki, Toph, Zuko and everyone who played to The Last Airbender. I wait to see Korra and if it is as good as was the Legend of Avatar Aang or better or worse.
I think they should change the last airbender to the last waterbender ~ probably to tell the audience it has something to do with the previous series, but personally i think it would made more sense :D

@tammex08 only AIR BENDERS have those tattoos, they have nothing to do with being the Avatar... just symbols for air I believe... and Korra was born into the Water Tribe :P
i believe she uses fire simply because she's destructive and really loves to fight. (which i'm LOVIN) There may be some underlining problem with her relatives since she wants to pro-bend but they simply want her to use her abilities for worldly preservation, rather than personal preservation. So looking at the U.R. alone may be her teenage angst coming on so she leaves and starts fighting but causes trouble on the streets and ends up getting in trouble with Bei Fong while also looking forTenzin
@csafreak i think its more becuse its hard to earthbend in a city without destroying everyting end there is no water nearby. she cant airbend anyway so that just leaves firebending as her best option
...and the place she fights at 6:10 is covered in snow or ice (water) and the place she fights at 6:24 is plain ground (earth); she has mastered both of these elements (even before she mastered fire), but she still chooses to use fire. There's a good reason for that! I don't think it's just her preferance!
6:41 ... or maybe cause that's what the creators wanted to show us in the trailer. She's from the Southern Water Tribe; fire should be the element she's worst at (by comparison); she must be using fire a lot cause most of the fighting scenes are in the Pro-Bending tournament and she could be obliged to use only fire as her element/weapon; maybe she's doing it for fun or training though... who knows!
@DontTrustAFreak Keep in mind that by following the elemental cycle the Aang spoke about, she would have just learned firebending, or is still mastering it. So she would be using firebending as much as possible.

I never realized that that was Korra at 5:50...I thought this whole time that Bolin! But I see the ponytail sooo I guess you're right.
However at 4:30, look carefully at the first guy that cartwheels across the screen. It's actually Mako, not another Equalist. When you look at it frame by frame, you can see his gloves and scarf, and his clothes in general resemble Mako's. So my guess is that the first time Mako and Korra meet they end up having to fight Equalists.

That island is actually the home of Aang and Katara's son, Tenzin. He lives there with his family. Also, Appa didn't survive the 70 year gap. Bryan and Mike said that after the first series Aang found a breed of flying bison with only minor differences.

@csafreak However, with waterbending you can use whatever moisture is in the air or objects/organisms around you. With airbending you have an unlimited supply at your disposal on land (and I think Aang was able to separate the oxygen from the hydrogen to create air underwater when he got stuck in that iceberg... I can't ay this for sure, though). I think earthbending is the only element with legitimate limits... I just think Korra likes firebending because it makes her look more badass ;)

I remember coming across this leaked pic of the male main characters earlier this year. Can't remember the site but I'm pretty sure one of the guys was named Mako, and he is a firebender.

@Neoblitzer Yes, and Mako has a younger brother named Bolin who is an earthbender. There are plenty of pictures that have been officially released of character designs including Tenzin (one of Aang and Katara's three sons), Tenzin's family, Mako, Bolin, Korra, Toph's daughter (Chief Bei Fong, leader of the Metalbender Cops), Naga (Korra's polarbeardog animal companion) and Pabu (Bolin's pet fireferret). Also there are new species of sky bison and flying lemures :D

I think she firebends most of the time for practice, since being a waterbender it's the hardest one to learn and the last one she learned (water, earth, fire and air)... Just my teory XD

How can Aang tell her to go learn airbending? When the avatar dies the new avatar is born immediatly. So in this trailer he's already dead for 17 years. Besides, at comic con the developers showed pictures of Korra firebending at the age of 6 or so. So I think she already knew she was the new avatar a lot earlier then 14.

I just want to point out that those were flying bison flying around that tower and that wasn't appa, you can tell because the stripes come down to a point on this bison but on appa they were just stripes and on appa they weren't as red.

i believe she uses fire simply because she's destructive and really loves to fight. (which i'm LOVIN) There may be some underlining problem with her relatives since she wants to pro-bend but they simply want her to use her abilities for worldly preservation, rather than personal preservation. So looking at the U.R. alone may be her teenage angst coming on so she leaves and starts fighting but causes trouble on the streets and ends up getting in trouble with Bei Fong while also looking forTenzin

...and the place she fights at 6:10 is covered in snow or ice (water) and the place she fights at 6:24 is plain ground (earth); she has mastered both of these elements (even before she mastered fire), but she still chooses to use fire. There's a good reason for that! I don't think it's just her preferance!

She's from the Southern Water Tribe; fire should be the element she's worst at (by comparison); she must be using fire a lot cause most of the fighting scenes are in the Pro-Bending tournament and she could be obliged to use only fire as her element/weapon; maybe she's doing it for fun or training though... who knows!

@DontTrustAFreak Keep in mind that by following the elemental cycle the Aang spoke about, she would have just learned firebending, or is still mastering it. So she would be using firebending as much as possible.
