Um...the creators of Balto have officially stated that the white wolf wasn't Balto's mother. The wolf was just a wolf that happened to be around. I always thought the Wolf was the spirit of the wolf, so that kinda dampened my spirits. But somehow, it's even more romantic! The writers of the second movie were not the same as the first, so they kinda ran with it.

I have this movie! I always loved it when I was little and I still love it now. Especially this part. Thumbs up if you knew Balto was half breed! He is half dog, half wolf. One of his parents was a wolf, but I am not sure which breed either of the parents are.

Yeah,because it's Kevin Bacon who is howling. They should have recorded real wolf howls, but that's something that people didn't dare since Lion King when they brought live lions to the studio.

No, not the howling, it's great, it's Balto's voice(when he speaks) that's wrong. Balto should not sound like the way Kevin Bacon makes him sound like! How can Balto be a likable character with such a ridiculous, unfitting voice. And this animation is poor. It's way below Disney standards, the characters barely have any details on them and the film looks like pencil drawings, it looks like sketches that are moving. How much was the budget for this movie?

And why do I have the feeling I'm watching a Lion King sequence, the one with Mufasa's ghost visiting his son. Is this movie a Disney rip-off.
