Moserve, the government doesn't have any money saved that they're sitting on, and they can't raise taxes because that would kill productivity, so what does the government do? They get the fed to print it.

It really is that simple.

The rammifications of this though, is that they're destroying the value of the currency. And this has the net effect of a tax increase on the population because the government gets money it didn't have, and you can buy less with your dollar - ergo - a tax on the ppl

The 2008 estimated GDP for the USA is at 14.3 Trillion, those numbers should firm up in about 65 days with out major change.

The National Government Debt is at: 10,624,161,540,216.04 and rising at 3.32 Billion a Day .

12.5 Billion wont even cover our Fuel import Bill, your correct, that wouldn't jump start anything that could reverse the direction we are headed.

The TARP is just a way to pay CEO Salaries and allow them to stay in power and pass out Pink slips. 825B isn't Bailing out anybody .

Dear President Obama.

Get with the times, eliminate the healthcare system we now suffer under and go with a single payer system. That alone will save us untold Billions every year. Why do we think our medical practices are so advanced when we copy the way things were done in the dark ages. They applied leeches to cure everything and we pay leeches (insurance companies) to cover everything. Health care insurance is foolish, inefficient and severely out of date.
