I LOVE how Shimamoura took the old school Mickey Mouse March and made it for Kingdom Hearts. That's awesome. And if it's not, I don't know what awesome is.

This always bothered me:

In KH1, you enter the Gummi Ship and chose where you want to fly to on the map.

Disney Castle was right next to Traverse Town, and never once could you travel to it.

Now why could that be?

They cut it from the game. Not enough time to get it out on schedule and nothing too important was happening there, so they cut it and decided to save it for KH 2. Pride Lands was supposed to be in KH 1 as well and was also cut. Likewise Deep Jungle was supposed to be in COM but was cut, and Monstro was to be in Days and was cut.

That's just how games are sometimes.
