Nice videos. I just got one of these (the USB 2442 NOT the FX version called 2442) and I have a few questions. I am only using this for live performances and I just got a subwoofer (expecting a twin next week sometime). These are the powered subs (called Enforcer II on the Seismic Audio website) and I want to add crossover, compress/limit/gate, sonic maximizer. What are some good ways to add the sub and crossover to the board? I am using "control room" as the subs output (what else could I use)?
@RVAism you could use any of the 4 sub group outs as well, the board already has compressors on Channels 1-8 you also have 4 AUX sends per channel that you can use for noise gates/limiters etc
has anybody used this board as a usb interface with there DAW program, i want to know what the sound quality is. i was thinking of running a tube preamp into this and im hoping it will be good sound quality.
@FireStormRocords sounds killer i just subbed. did you use this 2442 mixer as your interface? i have to get my studio up and running again cause i haven't recorded in a couple of months and i have tons of songs to record they are piling up lol
@ganjaking187 Yes I did but this board will not multi track record you can over dub or ll tracks mixed at once and thats it so, I am currently useing the Tascam USB 2000 as my audio inter face for multi tracking and useing the 8 direct outs on my xenyx 2442 usb to multi track I' am waiting on the Behringer X-32 to come available then upgradeing my studio to that board
@FireStormRocords cant multitrack are you serious? thats crazy why would behringer make it a audio interface if you can only use one input at a time lol i think im gonna go with the roland quad capture for now.
Yeah, its non repairable, Well for the price. Every service, it usually pops and cracks about 5 times. I have to turn it off then pick it up and drop it about 3 inches from stand. Its the only way to get it to stop. Thats why I dislike digital mixers, when something like a ribbon goes bad, its horrible for live application :I Thanks again for the tutorial!
@DakotahCole mine has served me well but its not in the same class as a good working Yamaha 03D Have you sent your Yamaha in for service to see if it can be repaired
I bought this board for my Church worship band six months ago, and it rocks. We use it exclusively for live sound, but can record easily out to my Alesis multimix if needed. The strength of this board is for live sound. The compression knobs are a huge asset for custom tailoring the sound for individual singers. The groupings are great because you can adjust your sporano, tenor, bass vocal groups as needed. I highly recommend this if you are looking for a great live sound mixer.
and that's how I generally use it . Upgrading to a Presonus In January and then Adding The Behringer X32 As soon as I can after it finally hits the Market
I do over dubbing on my board its an analog berhinger, the 8 outputs are a great feature though that kinda sells me on it, i can mix it, and then send direct outs to an interface, then ill get seperate tracks, thats why i would buy it.
Thank you sir for posting such a very informative and in depth review of this mixer. It has really served to familiarize myself with it. I noticed a feedback destroyer in your setup and would like to know how you route the signal through it to be effective. Do you send the main outs to it and then on to the power amp or do you route the input signal through the aux send/ return (effects loop)? I appreciate any and all information you can provide. Thanks again.
@stratocatblue most of the time I route it thru the Aux Sends and returns but ocationaly at a live gig I will go from the cntrl outs to it then from the destroyer to a second amp running the monitors on stage as this board dosnt have a set of monitor outs seems to work about as well either way but i tend to forget wich sends I hooked it up to and the second way eliminates that problem
@FireStormRocords Thank you! I scored this mixer this past Sunday for dirt cheap. Upgrading my bands live sound from a eurorack ub1204. I happen to own four behringer mixers and for as much crap as people talk about them, in the 10 years I've used them I have yet to have one crap out on me. Believe me when I say I'm especially hard on equioment and am simply amazed at how well this stuff has held up. BTW I also own that same DSP 1124p. Regards.
@stratocatblue I have yet to have any of it quit on me been great stuff so far and as you can see in previous video's I've added other Behringer items to the line up as well

@ganjaking187 you can mix all tracks to one stereo track or over dub . not sure why they did it that way.
