  • this is cool you guys should be better known! or should have been rather.

  • did i record this song ????

i think i was the producer at that time..

  • @john1blackwell: Hey John! Curt Rowlett here, owner of this YouTube channel. Yes, you were the producer of that song, and a few others. It is great to hear from you after all these years. I hope you have been doing well.

  • did i record this song ????

  • Thanks for putting this up. I was going through a box in the basement and found a copy of this cassette a couple weeks ago, but I have nothing to play it on. Can you post "Liquored up, squashed flat" or "Hangman of New Orleans" ?

  • Hi I am related to Jack sort of. His brother married my mom. I remember as a kid he would always talk about the band. I played guitar, and still do. He was always like I play the bass. Rare not many people play bass. Anyway he is one of my inspirations for continuing to play music now for like a long time. I remember he sold me his Crybaby wah wah pedal. If you see him on here tell him Blake said hey and give him my youtube site, thanks! Like your songs by the way! Jack is an old pal.

  • Random are the gains in this youtube world. So glad to hear the original of this song. I knew that Stiv Bator hadn't written it. He had a different vibe in his post-Lords music.

  • One of those songs that I can listen to repeatedly!

And that's gotta be one of the biggest honors when Stiv covered this! :)

  • Thanks, Joey. Yeah, this was probably The Tombstones "greatest hit" from the original line up. Later incarnations of the band also performed Nobody and do the song justice. But I'm biased in that I prefer the original!

  • Stevie gave Stiv a copy of the song on vinyl several years before he passed away.

  • I remember that when we opened for Stiv and his Lords of the New Church, that Stevie gave Stiv a copy of Grave Matter, the orignal recording where Nobody first appeared. And Stiv was in the club when the Tombstones played Nobody live, as well. He told the sound man that he really dug our music . . .

  • nice cover

  • Thanks, but this is *not* a cover; it is the original song! The Johnny Thunders/Stiv Bators/Dee Dee Ramone version of this song is a cover.

  • Yes, song is written by Stevie Tombstone, covered by those guys.

  • Hi Killene: LOL, this is not the first time that somebody has thought that the orginal Nobody song was written by Stiv Bators and Company. This is for prosterity: It was The Tombstones, and Stevie Tombstone in particular!
