@FreakyKing2 Harley-Davidson acquired 49% of Buell in 1993, and it became a wholly owned subsidiary by 2003, which was 51%(I think). Then they discontinued the Buell brand October 15th, 2009.

Now I like Harleys, but I don't like Harley for what they have done to Buell, seems a shame that America's only sportbike company got stung this way, sad for Americans and worldwide fans of Buell too. When I get enough money together, I will buy a Triumph or a Guzzi in protest at Harley instead of the Sportster I was looking at.

I, like so many people here hate harley for what they've done, but I believe that Erik and team will raise again. I own 2 Buell bikes simply because every time I compaired bikes Buell came out on top. I love everything about them from styling to power to weight ratio. If I could tell Erik one thing it would be, "NEVER give up your dream". Your passion is shared by so many, and we will support you. I cant wait to see what Buell comes out with next!

I totalled my '08 Buell Lightning XB12Scg last year, and could have replaced it with a rice or pasta rocket. Instead, I chose to simply get an '09 Buell Lightning XB12Scg!

You can see how much soul and effort Erik and his crew put into making each bike...

Don't count on Buell staying out of the game. I have a feeling he and his company will resurface...

How ironic, the same year Buell wins the championship H-D gives them the axe!! In my book Erik still went out on top, HE DID BUILD THE BEST BIKE, and he got his win. I own a '08 XB12S, and will own it for the rest of my life, it's not for sale at any price. H-D will never get another penny from me and I will never own anything that has an H-D badge on it, they can rot. They turned their backs on the only man in their arsenal that was inovative and forward thinking. H-D is dead!

Buell was accomplishing things that Harley had only tried to do and failed. Buells were getting better and better every year. Harley's been making the same shit for years, just with different paint jobs. The only change Harley has made lately is a bigger frame for their Touring models to hold the fat-asses that ride them, plus their new Trikes that only the rich can afford....(boring). H-D is disliked by so many REAL motorcyclists, and it's not hard to understand why.
