  • I am getting this phone for my birthday and I can't wait to get rid of my droid incredible and replace it with this baby!

  • Anybody else notice hes having lunch with Jack Black??

  • OMGG, I SO WANT ITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

  • I don't understand why they put headphone ports on the bottoms of the phone. It puts more tension on the headphone wires and requires them to be longer.

  • Wow, I've seen you laughing. It was the picture in your contacts list.. :D

  • Got a question.. when I see the antenna bars and the Wifi bars, I saw that the signal strength is very very very weak during a long time.. Any antenna- issues?

    thanks!

  • I've had mine for about a week and a half now, and what I still can't wrap my head around is why in the world did they stick a 5mp camera on this thing?!!?! That still burns me up just thinking how I have an awesome device but with the crappiest camera known to man on it...ugh

  • @MOTACJ so u recommend the galaxy nexus over the rezound

  • I had the rezound but then after two weeks it broke and they game me the option for the nexus upon return. I feel so lucky. The nexus is amazing. Amazing. I love it.

  • Thanks for taking the time to respond. The Galaxy S2 Epic 4g was a disappointment in this area. 3 phones with the same issue; about 17 feet from the router the wi-fi would completely disconnect (same floor, 1 wall). My Evo 3d and Evo 4g can go 40 feet before signal is too weak to work.

  • Because I wanted to see what ics looked like it's ugly that's not too hard to understand is it

  • This better comes to ATT. Verizon took too damn long. Should of release it since black friday.

  • Not impressed ics is ugly

  • @TheCambra why are you watching a video with a phone thats well known for ics in the first place?

  • When he was at the appointment screen, it said, "lunch with Jack Black" and when he was in contacts it said, "Anudder man"....lolol hahaha!

  • @jkirk1626 Actually US Cellular (Verizon) turned down Apple then they went to AT&T.

  • Piece of garbage!

  • Unless you have changed your settings for the review, you were testing your WIFI connection rather than 4g. As long as you have a WIFI connection, 4G sits dormant in the background.

  • Michael, Does it support bluetooth keyboard and bluetooth mouse like Honeycomb and ICS on tablets?

  • @crumcon Like evey other Android phone.. Yes

  • @crumcon It does, I was using one earlier this evening.

  • They shouldve added swipe

  • @XxNomac No Swype support yet. Swype says they are working on it, but that changes in the OS require them to rework some things.

  • Absolutely crappy phone, Slow Unresponsive UI as expected with Android, The worst camera I have seen on a high end phone costing something like 650 US$, Buggy Flash and over complicated OS. Over Hyped ..

Samsung S2 is still the best for Android users, Otherwise, Look no where beyond the iPhone4S. Fast, responsive, stable, robust and efficient OS, Best application, best camera phone on the market and best audio /music player.

  • How to get one of these in india

  • There is a lot of white noise in this video, it sounded like my CD burner was running the whole time. That is really my only complaint, the actual review is pretty good.

  • Hopefully, mobileburn can answer this question. Is the low wi-fi signal (I'm not stuck on the bars thing) an indication of trouble to come with this phone? I went through 3 Nexus S 2 Epic 4g Touch phones, and all of them had the same problem. 15-20 feet away from my router, total signal loss of connection. All my other phones maintained a signal 40 feet away (Evo 4g, Evo 3d, iPhone 4) Thx, jr

  • @juanriv01 I was on the second floor of the house, the router was in my basement. I don't see any problem with the phone over Wi-Fi.

  • I recently heard the news of hp webos will be an open os, what do you think Mike? Can it survive its 3rd life of being an open os?

  • @Mouthmusician No, I doubt it has much of a chance of doing much of anything.

  • @mobileburn I wish WebOS would have taken off, it was a great platform, just the devices were...odd.

  • @r0wd3 Hopefully someone will take the Source code and keep developing it.

  • The iphone sucks it has the worst sized screen its slow with resposiveness and I have the samsung galaxy captivate and it responds as soon as I press something plus there are siri like apps avalible and I have one thatz even better then siri itself and its called jeanie

  • do you honestly think google will drop a 32gb GSM version sometime next year??

  • Looks like a pretty slick phone and OS. I own a iPhone4s, which I love, but I would really like one of these...sweet screen, too.

  • Michael is one of the best mobile reviewers on YouTube!

  • God If I had 740 dollars I would get the GSM unlocked model.

  • It doesn't seem very responsive. Not as snappy as I would have expected.

  • @imlkrsfn WTF is with Android? It IS sluggish compared to the perfect responsiveness of iOS. I have Android and ordered the GN, so I'm not a fanboy, but iOS has it all over Android in this dept. Google needs to start putting their foot down, esp with Moto. Make Motorola's entire line Vanilla, then sell the skins to the same dumbasses who buy spoilers and ring tones. Ringtones are great, but don't pay for them. Skins ruin Android and performance. Charge for the skins like Apple charges for cool.

  • I don't get the 5mp camera but hot hot phone....

  • i hope Santa leaves this in my stocking along with the transformer prime ;)

  • Michael: Your signal seemed to stay on 1 bar. Is that typical of your location or is it a problem with the phone?

  • @skitzthegemini The signal in my location is generally weak, but the Galaxy Nexus is a wee bit weaker in the signal department than say Motorola's DROID RAZR. It's adequate, but not a stellar performer like some of Samsung's GSM based Galaxy S/S2 devices are.

  • The only flaw in IC to me is the slow transition from portrait to landscape.

  • Will you switch to Verizon for this or you use the GSM version?

  • @LoveLiveLifeUnique I would not likely switch to Verizon for any phone. I like SIM cards and the freedom of switching from phone to phone that they provide. Very useful when you review phones for a living.

  • Where have you guys been? I haven't seen a video from you in a while.

  • Nice post. You're one of the first. You beat Techno Buffalo. Waiting on FedEx for mine. I've heard there is STILL sluggishness transitioning between landscape/portrait. Even w 2 cores of >1 Ghz and a GB of RAM, Android still lags. iOS really is better in that dept and it doesn't seem Android's making progress. I still like my OG Droid. It regularly hangs for 20 secs at a time, but that's due to my rooting and fixing things that aren't broken, not Moto's solid hardware.

  • @jkirk1626 iOS is the same OS with no discernable difference to what was released back in 07 and most of the major updates were simply copies of existant android features. Nothing has changed.. I would rather have an OS work the way i want it to then a boring static grid of boxes. ICS is a huge step foward for Android I wish i could say the same for iOS5 which is simply just for catch up. If the landscape transitioning is the only form of lag that you can list then iOS really has nothing to show

  • @jkirk1626 Yes, the rotation transitions are slow. And there are still lags, which is a basic design flaw, I suppose you could call it, in Android. UI threads just don't get the same kind of high priority that they get on iOS. With that said, the phone still generally feels very fast.

  • @jkirk1626 idk about you but once my iphone4s and 4 get alot rolling it def laggs....

  • @jkirk1626 i use my og droid as a router for my xbox. and my nexus is fast as fuck and already rooted/modded....what the fuck lag are you talking about?

  • Now Google just need to release ICS for the Nexus S!

  • @BlazinPass Yep, but you were laughing at everyone else when you got Froyo & Gingerbread 1st, weren't you? :) My Galaxy Nexus is in the mail, due here Sat. Galaxy Nexus owners will be whining for Jelly Bean in mere months when Galaxy Nexus isn't the latest and greatest. I hope that Google will kick some ass at Motorola to kill MotoBlur and make all Motorolas Nexus devices. My Droid OG has been a solid, study phone. I've rooted it beyond all recognition, but its hardware is still solid.

  • @jkirk1626 my nexus is also in the mail, but honestly, my dream phone would be the newest software with a motorola build and no blur, touchwiz or sense. I hate bloatware, and i'm no too keen on manufacturers putting their finishing touches on the os. I just want pure android without carriers and manufacturers putting their grimy little hands on the os. But damn, those motorola builds, gotta love the hardware.

  • @BlazinPass I hear that. Waiting to try it out on mine.

  • @BlazinPass they already did.

  • Htc should make nexus's again

  • @wakawaka545 and give up this screen technology ? no thanks

  • When will they have a world LTE phone?

  • i want this phone so bad

  • Flawless Victory!

  • Bloatware. Google Wallet removed in favor of Isis. Carrier branding on the device itself.

This is not a Nexus device. It is an impostor.

  • @syn010110 Where is the bloatware, are u stupid?

  • @CityFlashLights verizon shit is bloatware, the verizon logo is bloatware, the extra thickness is bloatware i could go on

  • @akbisw How is thickness bloatware? Ith only 1-2mm thicker and thats for LTE. and there are 2 apps for managing your verizon account that you will actually use.And also, its a logo. And another thing, you dont seem to know what bloatware is, it is software that is "unnecessary" and requires disk space.

  • @CityFlashLights I used "bloatware" as a metaphor. I might have been a little sarcastic when i said the thickness was "bloatware" lol. My point is I do like this device one bit. Hardware wise it is petty. The build quality is absymal. No metal is a NO GO for me. I like when devices have chrome edges or metallic touches on the body. keeping that in mind, I would not regret buying this phone at all

  • @akbisw Sounds like iOS and latin culture are more your thing: all flash, no substance. You can make fun of everyone's out of date clothes while Americans and NW Europeans rule you and invent, design and make the things you want. But you can still dance and cook better. Knock yourself out with the pretty, shiny iPhone, Peugeot and Fiat.

  • @jkirk1626 Im just stating that I like a metallic phone LOL thats it. Haters gonna hate i guess. If Im paying 700 for a GSM phone it better be built by the gods

  • @jkirk1626 umm, the iphone is American

  • @grundyman26 I know that Apple is American. We appreciate your grasp of the obvious. What did I write that you misinterpreted to mean that Apple was not an American company? I know that having drones (Chinese) following instructions from their Anglo-Saxon, Taiwanese or Japanese masters doesn't make Apple foreign any more than having other beasts of burden plow fields makes agriculture an equestrian. Chinese space program: re-painted Russian rockets. Thank lazy unions making US mfg too expensive.

  • @CityFlashLights Verizon has 2 apps that cannot be uninstalled. You can keep them from running and appearing, but ICS actively has to block them, so they're still taking up memory and resources. I usu hate gov meddling, but Google and Samsung should call VZW out for its anti-competitive behavior in blocking Google Wallet. VZW already ok'ed Nexus, then went back on its word. I dropped $300 and ordered the GN, but it's not a legit Nexus. I hope Google kills Motoblur and we can all use solid Moto.

  • @jkirk1626 So its not a legin nexus when it has 2 preinstalled apps that help you and take up a max of 4MB on the phone when the phone has 16,384MB of space....ya thats a lot of wasted space, stop talking. If you really want wallet, root the phone, andget it. (and dont try to say that rooting is complex). Also this is about an android phone, i dont see how iOS, Latin america and Eurasia come into this

  • @syn010110 Agreed. Verizon is a greedy nightmare. Yeah, it has the best network but that's not due to VZ's talent; VZW was resulted fm splitting up the biggest baby bells. Apple rightly told Verizon to f off when Verizon was Apple's first choice for the iPhone. Can you imagine what a piece of garbage the iPhone would have been if Verizon had any say in it? After iPhone dominated, Verizon put its tale between its legs. Android saved VZW, but VZW still ruins it re Wallet, bloatware. Isis=fail.

  • froyo, gingerbread, and ice cream sandwich...Android is getting more delicious than ever! <3

  • good one fight

  • The box reminds me of the iPhone's box. Why do they have to copy whatever Apple has?

  • @TheTrieutran It's like asking, Why do other companies copied Motorola in making a cell phone.. Motorola made the first cell phone ever if you don't mind.

  • @TheTrieutran only a fanboy would ask a dumbass question about a box

  • Comment removed

  • @TheTrieutran Its a BOX, you cant change what a fucking box looks like

  • @TheTrieutran Why do iPhone fanboys always think, that the fact, the iPhone has something, qualitfies this thing to be typical Apple and was just copied by the others? Ever thought about the iPhone just being a phone that comes in a box like any other phone, long befor Apple even built phones?Ever though about the fact, that there was a touchscreen-phone befor the iPhone? That there were Tablets before the iPad? That there weree computers before the Mac?Why does Apple have to copy..get the point?

  • @NameNaameNameeNaamee Xerox Parc fanboy. Apple robbed Xerox!

  • @NameNaameNameeNaamee Jeez, you guys are too much. I'm just stating the fact. The box looks like the iPhone's, that's all. I didn't criticize or say anything against your loved Android phone, so don't whine like little kids hearing someone talking bad about their toys. And btw, I'm not an "Apple fanboy", I just think it's bad when ppl. try to copy even a box. They can do it better than that.

  • @TheTrieutran Ahhh, sorry, I obvieously did struck a nerve there...

  • Comment removed

  • @NameNaameNameeNaamee wait......the mac was a computer??? lolwhut?

  • @NameNaameNameeNaamee I love apple but you are right alot of the fanboys have lost there minds. There are something but not everything.

  • @TheTrieutran Apple's mouse and GUI are a total ripoff of Xerox. Why does Apple have to copy whatever Xerox Parc has? I admit that Android is a total ripoff of iPhone. Apple deserves credit. I use Android bc: LTE, free and integrated voice prompted turn-by-turn-nav (what's counterpart on Apple?), Google Voice integrated into my phone, I don't want Apple treating me like a child by pulling apps I want because Apple is too brainwashed politically correct.

  • why is it call ice cream sandwich? now i wish i waited to upgrade and got this instead of the iphone 4 but i like the iphone4

  • @boobtuber25 Google names their android version alphabetically using delicious treats (except the first 2)

Alpha, Beta, Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, Frozen Yogurt, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream.

  • i love this phone, thanks for review !

  • INB4300
