  • ABSOLUTLEY LOVE BEIRUT!

  • this is one of the best reasons to like youtube

finding amazing bands like this! :D

  • That's no pooh bear, that's a llama.

  • Love that rhythm.

  • his voice makes you wanna sit on the highest hill under the lowest clouds and just grin the day away, high as hell.

  • @TheCupIsNowHalfEmpty

... hell isnt high at all...

  • I like how demented the picture of winnie the poo is. it's unexplainable, but it adds an atmosphere of melancholy and joyous childish memories, but some how shot down with its unfinished sketch of black and white. so plain and simple but yet complex. the song adds more emotional conflict within. I am joking, but its all to your own opinion of it, its only a suggestive reflection.

  • @skylightrazors you are an ultimate douchebag

  • @skylightrazors man up, the picture of winnie is fine you dick

  • this on vinyl. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh

    baby makin music

  • this on vinyl. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • As much as I love Beirut, I dislike electronic music

sorry but for my opinion they'd better leave electronic music for what it is and continue making their astonishing accoustic music.

  • @natandecoster

Don't fret! It's not technically Beirut but instead songs from the side band Realpeople that Zachary had before. So I'm sure no more electronica is coming your way.

  • magic...

  • you'll send your eyes your heart to me

    where would I be?

you'll send your odd your heart to me

    where would I be?

    you're lost in the wild

  • Zach is from New Mexico. Obviously Beirut is a City. Not too sure where the band come from? I am assuming that they are from many different geographical backgrounds. Does anybody know?

  • @UKTraveller85 I heard that its called beirut because its the only place the whole band could think of that none of them had been too. I could be wrong though

  • @UkitakeJuushirou nope, the group is named Beirut because when Zach was younger and still living in New Mexico, he had a map of European countries on his wall. He had a hard time creating names for his songs so he took the names of countries and cities such as Beirut, Nantes, Italy, Bratsislava, Rhineland, Venice, Cherbourg, and more.... All of them... places in the world

  • This song reminds me of my uncle. He was an incredibly passionate historian, and he wanted to go to graduate school to do a thesis on Winnie the Pooh. He felt A. A. Milne had written the stories to try and teach his son about the history of the British Empire and inspire civic pride in him.

  • WOW! : )

  • dude is pooh moving?

  • @xxxcowboysxxx pooh IS a "movement"... lol

  • @xxxcowboysxxx dude your baked

  • I think it's a fusion between Oaxacan polka, Sonoran Ranchero, Transylvanian folk and Electronica. Very unique.

  • brilliant song

  • YOUR WIFE IS A BEAR?

  • This song is fantastic, Beirut continues así plz

  • Very good bits .... great musik

  • Zach is creating on the higher plains of music... so much alive...

  • This song is happiness. Beirut are just happiness! :D

  • This song just makes me want to close my eyes and lead an orchestra

  • Brutal

  • This song is fantastic, Beirut continues to blow my mind!

  • hi, pooh bear

  • prince of punks, the march of zapotex hat nothing to do with spaniards, but with mexican people in Oaxaca, a totally different culture

  • @AtziriKaiser

The Zapotec are not Mexican, they are Zapoteco

  • All the cultures that live in the Mexican territory are also Mexican

  • Exactly like the Zapotecs

  • I can never listen to this without turning up my speakers as loud as they can go.

  • @misskelibelly I turned up my speakers just because you said this.

    Thanks :]

  • y pa' que pones al winnie pooh? ¬¬

    buena cancioon :)

  • they are very multi-cultural as you can tell

There name is Beirut, capital of Lebanon (very cool since my family is from there) and this album is called march of zapotec, something to do with spaniards. then they have songs called nantes, something about the idea of free choice of religion referring to catholics and Protestants. then songs like postcards from Italy

  • March of the Zapotec is from Mexican history, and Nantes is a French city I believe, hence where the Edict of Nantes got its name.

  • Right, because France wanted to be a protestant country

But king louis XVI took away the Edict of Nantes

  • princeofpunk: the march of the zapotec doesn't have to do with spaniards. zapotec are people from the state of oaxaca in mexico. in oaxaca they have great big bands... :)

  • this is a really good track. its kind of hypnotic

  • i looove this & it reminds a little of Cut Copy

  • god never mention them again!

  • lmao

  • Anyone else reminded of LCD Soundsystem when listening to the vocals?

  • well ya THIS song is, but their newer stuff sounds less popish....some people have said its European....

  • Well, Europe is a big place. So I don't understand how people can label a style of music just "European".

  • neither can I haha thats my problem...

  • Is this European music? Not that I need a label, but i love Beirut and its so different from the American music I listen to so I was just wondering

  • @muahahaha101 well zach from beirut is american from new mexico, but he moved to europe.

I love it, love love looove

  • @wartree He lives in New York now.

  • @muahahaha101 Well...if you were to label Beirut like the whole group, you would call it Indie Folk.

  • @muahahaha101 This is American music, since it came from an (United States of) American...but Zach Condon was definitely influenced by European music

  • @lapopofighting No it not american music, music is not a certain genre because where someones from its what they do.

  • @JakyRedEyes This music was made in the United States, so the music would be considered American. American is not a genre, and I never said it was, but American is an adjective that labels something. This music can be labeled as American since it was recorded in the United States by someone from the United States. But all music has has different aspects that originated from numerous places worldwide.

  • @muahahaha101 Beruit is from somewhere in the southwestern U.S. Either Arizona or New Mexico, I'm afraid I forgot which.

  • @Ghelriel Umm...Beirut is the capital city of Lebanon, a country just south of Turkey off the eastern Mediterranean coast.

  • @Ghelriel hehe. i wish such a great band would be named after someplace here in the southwest :D

  • One of the top three songs from this album for sure, fucking amazing

  • My Night with the Prostitute from Marseille is probably my new favorite song.

  • x.x i am sad forreals.

    My gf x.x gosh

  • lmfao!!!!!

  • im so obsessed

  • love the pooh! No pun intended....prefer the first half of the ep myself

  • yeah, but he did it and you didn't.

  • doesnt make it better at all

  • This song is amazing. Probably the best song on the album. The harmonies and the melody are beautiful. The music is mesmerizing, even if it was made with pro-tools or whatever program Zach uses.

  • Are you from New Zealand?

  • It's not their best, but it isn't awful.

  • I'm pretty sure it's called 'My Wife, Lost In The World' isn't it? That's what it said on the track listing when I looked for the album on amazon? Oh I'm so happy Beirut have a new album though, Zach Condon is incredible, I was devastated when he cancelled the European tour last year, so glad he's back :)

  • No, it's lost in the wild ;)

  • Sorry you're right! :) silly amazon getting it wrong :) Oh i do love the new stuff :) :)

  • after the last releases i wondered howtf could anyone top this....im like...this is ridiculously amazing <3

  • this is grreat! (:

  • It already leaked, get with the program people. Of course, buy it when it comes out, but there are other ways of getting it before it comes out.

  • The waiting only makes it more exciting.

  • This is amazing! Can´t wait for the new album. Thanks for uploading:)

  • "My wife, lost in the wild"

  • hah, thanks :)
