I have to be honest, as a Christian it was hard to give up rock music because the tunes of the stuff I listened to were fabulous, music gives me so much enjoyment. @brakenlaker1 I've prayed for many people in Jesus name mostly to heal them of a sickness but i've never had the opportunity to pray for something more than that. It so far has just been little thing but those little things are shaping me to grow more in the lord if i just jump off in to the deep end I would drowned i need to grow more so that when the Lord brings me into that kind of a situation I'll be ready.

@welderch I don't really get what you're actually replying to. Of course there is power in His name, but not just because it's a word or a phrase. There is power in His name because of knowing WHO he is. If you want to get really fundamental with the mystery, then how is Jesus, who was on earth, refer to His Father, who was in heaven as a separate person? How do we have the spirit of Christ in us if Jesus ascended to heaven? It's a MYSTERY of unity and differentiation.

In ch.14, Jesus said "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me" in John 18 "I have come into the world, that I should testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice.". If you love the truth and seek for it then for sure you will find it

Because in Jesus, God came close to us. And through Him it became possible to come close to God, to Jesus Himself, but also to the Father and the Spirit.
And God also is calling us by name, personal, intimate. He's not only God the Almighty, but also God the best friend. He calls you by your name. We love Jesus, because He is our Love. He did the thing nobody else could do.
I get suspicious when someone only talks about God, but never mentions Jesus name. Jesus is our saviour.

well duh. The cross wasnt christian made, cause christians didnt punish people by nailing them to a cross. Jesus was the one who sat with beggars and thieves, to help them when nobody else wanted to help them, rather than condemning them to be killed, like lets see...the pagans, and most of the gov systems of the ancient day...he made an example of forgiveness. We will remember the meaning of the cross because he died for our sins.
