Most of you make me sad. The same kind of generalizations that make a lot of Hawaiians hate haoles (and some of them really do), are what make ignorant white americans say things like "we own Maui". Although not as prevalent as it was when I was a kid,... the Aloha spirit still lives in Hawaii. Plenty of locals don't like/trust haoles, but, plenty of haoles go there and treat locals like everyone who lives there is their employee. Both sides perpetuate the other. REMEMBER ALOHA, AND SPREAD IT

I used to cook at I'o in the 505 complex on Front Street. Had to drive from Wailuku everyday, lolo buggahs drivin' home at night though! Worked at Mama's Fish House over by Ho'okipa too. Crazy prices, but da' grindz are ono! I miss Maui, gonna come back someday soon...

I ate at kimos also and it was the best meal ever. the best sunset on the deck. totally unplanned. we asked a guy with parrots on the the street where there was good seafood and he said kimos. best food all week. better than buzzes wharf. i planned to go to buzzes too. the prawns at buzzes are awesome though, my wife ordered them. both good places. kimos is james in Hawaii. my name.
