It isn't necessarily a pioneer problem. It is the fact that it doesn't run on HID, so it doesn't notice such tiny changes. I've had the same problem in the middle of sets. I usually make sure I'm about where I need to be BPMwise before I bring in the song so I don't have to worry about it too much.
i think if u still use the old fashion way to mix just keep using old mixers (not saying bad about that) i start my self with vinyl.and appreciate the vinyl style and i think this technology for new dj's is spoiling cos they loose the point of the proper dj.but
personally i think the sync is really help full why loose time matching the pitch if u can do in the second..... and of course the pioneer should have a look in this problem
PS:you dont think it could be a problem with your controller?
@techsantos Well the actual main point of a DJ is to spin good music and give a show, beatmatching stands on the third place. It's important to beatmatch, but i ain't the hardest thing to learn so I don't really care that controllers like this one has sync button on it. I have the same controller, I haven't use the sync button once, tried it out but I don't like it, it ain't natural so I just keep beatmatching.
@MelleBEATS Agree, like the people on the dancefloor gonna come up and say "Hey, wtf? You are not using a "proper" dj setup"
Well, maybe we should go back to casette tapes and vinyls and f**ck the future and digital world or you wont be "proper". lol, i love how these "proper" dj's play the sh!ttiest music on the clubs tho, but they are "proper" so lets dance never mind the music!!!

The controller it self does not send out midi code when you move the pitch around 0% . so please dont look into your software to try to solve this problem. it is the controller what does not respond the 2milimeter around the 0 marker.
@pashamongol1 A lot of people doesn't care about because they use the SYNC..:( So that's a problem.. a BIG PROBLEM.. I hate it. If you find out please tell us ok?
THE SOLUTION : JUST BLOW IT WHIT A TUBE !!! its only dust...

@mellebeats @techsantos
Its not proper using digital djing, but its proper copying samples and songs on the computer making new songs and music in DanceEjay-mode.

I do have to say in that regard I do miss Itch.

You got the same behavior on CDJs. It's a good thing in my opinion, cause you can quickly set the pitch to 0.
