No, that is not just my interpretation of it. This is THE interpretation of it. These decrees among others in Leviticus were given to Israel, God's chosen people. They were to follow these laws. Why? Because God doesn't want them to settle for low quality material, which mixing the two does. You're left with a lower grade material that wears out faster. They were to be Holy in all that they did.

Eyewitness accounts do not limit to what someone saw, but also what someone experienced like what you said. However too many things can make anything unreliable, and I'd be more than happy to elaborate. Most Western buddhists were in fact converted from christianity. That is why they feel need to criticize christianity which they originally came from. They try to come to terms with christian ideas they were raised with. But ideas that people were indoctrinated their whole life can NOT be easily erased. Human mind is not like a computer that can delete files. The emotion of some western Buddhists to hate christianity is evidence of the christianity that is still left in their minds.

If someone asks, then a Buddhist will tell them what Buddhism is about, but they do not damn someone to hell for "not believing". Buddhism is an individual path. One can actually follow a Buddhist path and be a Christian at the same time. The two are quite similar...when one follows true Buddhism, or true Christianity.
But what is wrong with preaching the Gospel? I agree, you can't get somebody to convert if they don't want to, but the truth is, your sins are washed away by the blood that Jesus Christ has shed on the cross, not because Buddhists tell you there's an eight-fold path and that you have to abstain from things, and I never said you couldn't be an individual.
I like Buddhism and I like Christianity, But Buddha did not shed his blood so that I can have eternal life in Heaven, Jesus did.

My point is, Buddhism converts. Even though they don't... as you put it, "go out and preach their gospel" (oh no!), people who choose to become Buddhists have to change in some way or another. The most important thing we have to focus on here is that they do it with free will. It has to come from you, but there are still decisions to be made from you. You're not forced to work a job either.

@TheAlexington Buddhist believe in "Godhead", a power that everyone can achieve. Nirvana, or enlightenment, is the path to the Godhead within each individual. Even that makes it sound a little hokey, but then, Buddhism is very much an individual experience, isn't it? You can't really explain the experience, only try and interpret the meaning and then find your own way.

However too many things can make anything unreliable, and I'd be more than happy to elaborate. Most Western buddhists were in fact converted from christianity. That is why they feel need to criticize christianity which they originally came from. They try to come to terms with christian ideas they were raised with. But ideas that people were indoctrinated their whole life can NOT be easily erased. @jmann114 Sorry, but no, Buddhist do not go out and actively try to convert and preach the gospel the way many Christians do (as your comment proved). If someone asks, then a Buddhist will tell them what Buddhism is about, but they do not damn someone to hell for "not believing". Buddhism is an individual path. One can actually follow a Buddhist path and be a Christian at the same time. The two are quite similar...when one follows true Buddhism, or true Christianity.

But what is wrong with preaching the Gospel? I agree, you can't get somebody to convert if they don't want to, but the truth is, your sins are washed away by the blood that Jesus Christ has shed on the cross, not because Buddhists tell you there's an eight-fold path and that you have to abstain from things, and I never said you couldn't be an individual.
I like Buddhism and I like Christianity, But Buddha did not shed his blood so that I can have eternal life in Heaven, Jesus did.

My point is, Buddhism converts. Even though they don't... as you put it, "go out and preach their gospel" (oh no!), people who choose to become Buddhists have to change in some way or another. The most important thing we have to focus on here is that they do it with free will. It has to come from you, but there are still decisions to be made from you. You're not forced to work a job either.

@TheAlexington Buddhist believe in "Godhead", a power that everyone can achieve. Nirvana, or enlightenment, is the path to the Godhead within each individual. Even that makes it sound a little hokey, but then, Buddhism is very much an individual experience, isn't it? You can't really explain the experience, only try and interpret the meaning and then find your own way.
