  • peart is the greatest drummer of all time

  • malletkat

  • I would like to see him on a small kit... Always way too much going on for me in his solos.

  • Speaking as an admirer of the Prof's work - this solo is not one of his best. The acoustic drums are fine, but - the sound effects used on the Roland E drums is absoloutely horrible!

To be honest I will never be a fan of the electronic section of his solo - dont mind the malletkat too much though.

He does however use them to good effect during certain songs, Mystic rythms being a high point for me.

  • @agankachu09 Go fuck yourself you stupid troll!! Go and jerkoff to Nickelback cause you're wasting our time!

  • RUSH is the most horrible rock (progressive) band ever on this earth! I always put my radio off in the car. The only genius is Neil Peart who plays that lousy music and makes it come to life - i mean only that section of the band. I hope they'll never get inducted in the R & R Hall of fame.

  • @agankachu09 If you don't like Rush, then don't comment on a video. Honestly, nobody cares if you like them or not. Keep your opinions to yourself. You don't need to tell the world.

  • 12 people like the drummer from Nickelback.

  • THE KING

  • is it just me...or is this "legend" a little over rated?..

  • @trecoolmania Not at all.

  • @trecoolmania No way. To understand the Legend of Neil you have to understand the legend of RUSH.To understand RUSH you need to understand the music. To understand the music is to realise its complexity and composition. To understand its complexity and compositon you either need to be a fan or a musician. To be a fan or a musician, you need to posses passion and to understand passion is to listen to RUSH. Neil Peart said himself "God is in the details", and RUSH is a perfect example of that.

  • @trecoolmania It's just you

  • @trecoolmania Definitely just you.

  • chuck norris who?

  • Know why he always has a bandana on his head? There's a CPU adjustment under there which controls his robot body, I knew a guy.

  • THIS kit looks better than the double bass kit... :D

  • The MASTER! I swear the guy isnt human!

  • who disliked this!!!

  • @codyhinkle91 The dislikes, were guys whose ex-girlfriends are now dating someone who likes Rush

  • drum channel should be in open TV

  • @jas0nv00r33s I read where Neil didn't like the second bass drum because "it sounded like an echo chamber." Non-musician here. Just a thought.

  • i love how he went to fucking electroesc kinda shit to swing what a great musician

  • CANADIANS RULE!!!

  • is it just me or does that sound at the end of these videos sound like the one at the end of bangbros?

  • what a square..im soo sick of him

  • @drummzzer

"gee, he's got that mastered" "wow, no effort at all, he makes it look SO easy, masterful"

    yawn

  • We're not worthy!

  • I wonder what it must feel like to sit in the middle of that big circle of amazing drums...

  • @turok0404 Neil can do most of his music with a 4 piece, too. He sounds great to me with both a small drumset and a large one.

  • I wish he'd go back to his old Tama kit and ditch the electronics

  • hes ok.. i mean look like he cant be botherd when hes playing.

But listening to him drum back in the day was incredible.

  • he has a stewie

  • i live in holland!!! :-D

  • Someone can pass me the link to see the full video?? Thanks!

  • Electronic drums sound awful, why do they even bother. Bruford in the 80's Crimson lineup is the only player who actually expanded his sound in a beneficial way with electronics. The current Crimson incarnation records and tours with V Drums, it's absurd. Mostello doesn't even use an acoustic snare. But anyway, I digress. Go Neil!

  • I so wanna buy the R30 kit!

    go Neil! Best drummer ever

  • Ladies and Gentleman, THE PROFESSOR ON THE DRUM KIT!!!!!!

  • @dontrushme2112-that he is

  • in the part were he played electric sounds on his normal drums, does dat means he has triggers?

  • i think he uses roland cdrums built inside shells to match his kit rather than triggering acoustic drums. thats what i read anyway

  • He is so amazing seriously!

    My hero!

  • Wow, that's all you can say after that. Just amazing.

  • I want his hat. Now.

  • Yah I don't like the new electronic sounds I heard there and at the last concert. But I love that he experiments with new stuff. I like most of the electronic stuff he does usually.....but his solo from YYZ on the older Exit Stage Left CD is one of his best.

  • My favorite kit of his so far. And I don't think those aren't brilliant Paragons. On the video A Work in Progress he or his drum tech mentioned that his cymbals get polished every night before a show and after a while they take on a brilliant finish. That's why all of his Zildjian A series cymbals appeared to be brilliant finish and had no black logos or markings on them.

  • the cymbals are not Zildjian thay are the Sabian paragons that he helped develop.

the video a work in progress was done two kits ago.

  • I'm quite sure these are custom brilliant Paragons especially made for Mr. Peart. Talked to Sabian before and they said they can do just about anything with their cymbals. And yes i have seen his Paragons with the brilliant finish with freshly printed gold logos on them. Hmmm lucky Neil. : )

  • @outlaw6066 ive played one, and the full set is abou £2800 :\

  • his kit is so beautiful

  • god become drummerrrrr

  • And his nameth be PEART!!!

  • Stewie!!!!!!!

  • Neil is insane. And we love that!!!!!!

  • i love how creative neil is on the drums in his solos, but i hate to say i wasn't a huge fan of the sounds he chose for the electronic portion of the solo, it sounds very choppy and not musical. i personally like Der Trommler the best.

  • I Agree, but theres only so much you can do before you run out of ideas right. He just wanted to come up with something new because he had done virtually the same solo for the past8 years on T4E, VT and R30. My personal favorite solo was O Baterista but yea i agree with you, S&A setlist was great, but not my favorite drum solo.

  • agreed

  • dont hate it, Neil past the years of drumming and listening, he's way past us musically, basically I hated it as well, but it'l grow on you, wait a bit, I know it sound very futuristic and mechanical? right? but thats the whole point, he meant it this way, well thats my opinion....so think about it? Neil always change sound, check his drum sound! totally different than the old one, he evolve....:)

    thanks.

  • @belac5 Me too :D The solo from the R30 tour was my favorite :D

  • @belac5 Creative? He plays the same solo in every concert

  • @Qalstootel What do you mean the same??? Maybe the same 'Heart' or 'Framework', but his solos are NOT all the same silly. Pay attention and you'll hear

  • @Qalstootel thats because it's a song... just because it doesn't have any other instrument does't mean it isn't a song

  • @Qalstootel Because he doesnt make t just a solo he makes it a song so it goes with the lights and the pyro and what not

  • @belac5

I couldn't agree more. We all love and respect Neil's contribution to drumming, but let's be honest..... his best work has been recorded some time ago now.

I couldn't stand the solo from this past tour. Goofy sounds, as if it were a musical box making the sounds.

  • @larkydozer His best work has yet to be recorded, the guy is allowed to experiment, thats what makes him great, he's not afraid to try new things, I like the way he plays now, much smarter, more controlled, he's always interesting!

  • @belac5 I think the idea was to make it sound VERY old-school as in classic Rush sounds :D instead of the "WOW Synth Drum FX" sounds... using shitty sounds to make a solo = COOL

  • @belac5

I agree... Really not a fan of his solo's current incarnation. Hopefully he'll move on to something else for the next tour.

  • he is smply the best! what an unbelievable drummer and person from an amazing trio!

  • brilliant paragons?

  • i wish mine had the brilliant finish

  • Can't wait to see this brilliant drummer!

  • peart the master

  • se nn fosse per tom sawyer mi farebbe completamente schifo...

  • hahaha stewie is there!

  • The #1 thing that makes this guy so great is the fact that he's willing to share his technique that was once so mysterious and elusive to his fans. Like the song goes, "It's not what you got, it's what you give." Neil peart has given me so much emotionally and as a musician...thanks DC for making this gem available to us!
