If I were to suggest that between the Earth and Mars there is a china teapot revolving about the sun in an elliptical orbit, nobody would be able to disprove my assertion provided I were careful to add that the teapot is too small to be revealed even by our most powerful telescopes.
Read Pinkers God Delusion. A perfect god would have made a head less penetrable to damage. Hitchen's god is not great also very fine! Anyway , amazing to see this video. Many questions it cannot answer. The range of pitch we hear &don't hear, variety of sounds how is timbre associated with waves? I have a million questions. It is all a natural miracle!
I'm pretty sure you meant this for dwade277 who seems ignorant and pathetic enough to believe he's doing something constructive by polluting any discussion with that filthy ideology. I'm not sure what can be done about it. How do you get an ant infected with a lancet fluke to stop climbing blades of grass merely to wait for a ungulate to eat it? Religion is a collection of selfish memes that convert an ordinary cowardly twit into a mindless asshole that lives to spread those same toxic memes.
ananiasacts, why are you so angry? I don't understand your attacks on me. I am doing my best to represent God's word. If you have a problem take it up with him. Your blind statements about society, reality and truth reveal what little understanding you have. Is it a bigger leap of faith to believe in science or Christianity? Do you believe in the big bang theory? Do you believe a man can be raised from the dead? Answer me this, where does gravity come from?
Okay for crying out loud, it's a science video. They are not going to start saying "the heavens rule" in science videos, not in this world where freedom of religion or lack thereof is so adamant.
The human body is divinely designed, it's incredibly unlikely that happenstance made such a complicated device as the ear, not to mention everything else.
What would be the point of life, of having the freedom to choose what you believe, if God showed himself to everyone, therefore forming tyranny? Choose to see it or not, the ear is pretty amazingly designed.
To dwade277: Apparently Jesus/God are omnipotent assuming they exist. So yes they would have heard me. So to that I say so fucking what. If Jesus really exists I would ask SHOW YOURSELF. Prove to me you are real. Then maybe I would recant my original statement of FUCK GOD!
I understand what you are saying and it's a great question. How does God prove to someone he is real? I'm not sure I know how to answer. The Bible teaches that God communicates through scripture. He does this VISUALLY, Acts 14:9-10, 2 Kings 6:17. AUDIBALLY, Acts 9:4. Through DREAMS and VISIONS, Acts 10:11, Matthew 2:22, Acts 16:9. Through other believers, 1 Timothy 4:12. EVENTS/TIMING, Acts 16:25-29. FEELING GOD'S HEART, John 11:33, Luke 7:12-14. Jesus says seek and you will find. Find a Bible.
If Jesus heard you say this I'm sure he would want to know why you are so angry with his father. As a Christian I consider Jesus my brother and God my father. Am I offended by your words?, yes. As a Christian I will be persecuted and belittled by non believers for the remainder of my life. This is nothing compared to the sacrifice that Jesus made for me and you.
God can see all and do all. Kids gets kidnapped, raped, tortured, and murdered every day. Since God is omnipotent God watches this and does nothing to stop the kid's suffering. Therefore that definition of God defines a demon. I will never worship an omnipotent God such as the Bible describes. In prison God would get shanked!
If you had a basic understanding of the bible you would understand God is certainly not a demon. We don't understand why God allows death, destruction, war, rape... God has a purpose for all these atrocities and one day He will revile His purpose for allowing such atrocities to occur. We also have free will. If one wants to sin he or she can. If one wants forgiveness for sin and everlasting life he or she can have it through Jesus and a true understanding of the bible. There is no other way.
I have a basic understanding of the Bible. If you had the same understanding you would know that the writers of the Bible borrowed from beliefs that were thousands of years (at that time) old. The Virgin Birth was taken from Egyptian beliefs. So Dwade277, you are actually making excuses for a loving benevolent God who has the power to keep an innocent child from being horribly murdered by saying He has a "purpose" someday? Sorry dood, but I don't want to "understand" that. (2 b continued...)
A child rapist is a sick person, are we supposed to "understand" his actions? A God who watches a child being raped and murdered has no purpose in my worship. Thanks but I will worship nature as the beautiful mystery it is, without all the religious double speak which tries to justify why an otherwise loving God seems to be so cruel. I understand that is just a human's way to try to make sense of their deaths and give more meaning to their lives. Don't proselytize me, bro!
Jesus says to forgive your enemies as you would want God to forgive you. Why would you worship nature and not the one who made it? Truth, understanding and meaning will only be found through Jesus. I would one day love to call you my brother but if you want to call me bro for now thats cool to.
You believe God made nature. I believe nature to be more, well, natural. In other words, not created by a deity. Since neither one of us can prove the other wrong without relying on Faith then I suggest we agree to disagree. I'll put it another way, if I die and St. Peter asks me why I didn't worship God, I will say I will not worship a benevolent being who has the power to save children, the truly innocent among us, from brutality, yet chooses instead to watch. Again, that is a demon to me.
Your argument that you believe nature to be "more natural" sounds like you just puled it out of your head. Such is the same for many of your arguments. Read the book "A case for intelligent design" It puts Darwinism in it's place ( a fool's theory) and gives more circumstantial evidence to back it's clame than any other school of thought.
Yes, I did just pull that out of my head, thanks for the compliment. I am a free thinker so I think for myself. I follow the Golden Rule. I study all religions and find the common themes among them. I am bound to kindness not by some fear of burning in hell but because it is right. You say you don't judge yet you cast your judgement on the theory of evolution as a "fool's theory. I believe in evolution so you just called me a fool as well. I think you should pray for forgiveness from your God.
What is the "Golden Rule"? You study all religions and implement the common themes in your life. It sounds to me like you are your own god. You are bound to kindness because it is right? How do you know what is right from wrong? Do you determine that? You said you are a 'free thinker", why would you study all religions for direction and a basis for your moral compass if your such a free thinker? Anyone who searches and studies Darwinism could only come to one conclusion, he was wrong.
I am very wary of people who need a book to define their moral compass. Golden Rule, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." That's all I need to know right from wrong. If you need 10 commandments, that's fine. I study world religions to understand cultures. I never said I study them for direction. Careful Dwade, you are sounding very judgmental. I have only been stating what works for me. You, however, keep calling me wrong. We believe differently, just leave it at that. Thanks!
War is a perfect example and outcome of your "golden rule" of living. If someone slaps you in the face do you slap them back? If you have a problem with what I have been saying don't take it out on me. I'm just trying to represent God and his Word to the best of my ability. If I am judging you it is according to his word not mine. If I have taken any scripture out of context please let me know. Like I said before you sound like you are your own God. You determine what is right from wrong.
Dwade, your statement about war being an outcome of the golden rule is laughable to the point of ridiculous. You say you are representing God and His word? That is exactly what the Crusaders who slaughtered non-Christians believed. People throughout history have been tortured in the name of the God you worship so don't preach violence to me! I am done with our conversation. Take care!
didgeridood, God's Word has been distorted and used out of context by many power hungry people since Christ gave his life. Even Satin used scripture out of context when tempting Jesus. Why do you crucify God and his Word through other peoples actions (sin)? I am certainly not preaching violence. Show me scripture that's kept in context that teaches violence. Listen to my words and let them ring in your head. Truth can only be found through Jesus Christ. You have free will given by God to chose.
i think everyone is finding a truth for themselves. i dont think there is no one absolute truth until proof of that truth is given and accepted wholey. what you're talking about is not truth but faith, there is a large difference. having different ideas is a good thing and one should never push their own ideas onto another because that is what they believe.
I am certainly not making excuses for God. I'm doing the best I can to defend his word, his glory and power using his words (the bible) . There are many coincidences like the Virgin birth to other beliefs, does that prove the bible wrong? The bible was written by men through the guidance of God. It is his living and breathing word. It is as relevant now as it was 4000 years ago. The bible is also littered with prophecy. There has never been any bible prophecy provin wrong.
You believe the Bible to be the word of God. I see the Bible as no different than the Bhagavad Gita, the Koran, the Torrah, and the Tao Te Ching, etc, etc. In other words, very different books of very different Faiths. I respect your decision to believe the Bible as your manual of Faith. Now respect my disbelief, or don't, it doesn't matter to me. BTW, I forgive you for believing that I will burn in hell for not believing the way you do! ;-)
I don't need you to forgive me. If I have offended you in any way let me know. I do not believe the Bible to be a manual, I believe it is the living word of God. I never said you will burn in hell, that is not for me to Judge. That's between you and God. Christianity is all about your relationship with God. It is not a religion. How is your relationship?
Not offended, I just believe differently than you. I would not try to change your Faith or tell you that you are wrong for believing the way you do. Show me the same courtesy. I don't like proselytizers. Have a blessed day.
Our society only needs us to have faith in money, law, and our own intrinsic political capital. What gives these things their supernatural powers is the fact that they are metaphysical things. Trying to make them real can only destroy their utility. As a idea, god inspires man to contemplate godliness. As a reality, it needlessly divides us and shifts the focus to sin. Respect and worship are actually the greatest enemies of truth. Truth becomes better known by our attempts to discredit it.
Yes and our society is controlled by a few aristocratic elite who plan wars, financial crisis, terrorist attacks, control academics and all major media outlets, run eugenics programs, etc and are currently gobbling up most all of the hard assets around the world. Science is just as much a religion as Christianity, except in science material reality is worshipped. Most of these elites whom are freemasons worship Lucifer. Reality is a lot more complex than we have been taught.
I disagree with everything you said. There is no conspiracy. No cognoscenti. Science is a process and not a religion. (Religion isn't even religion--just politics!) There's nothing wrong or immoral about materialism. ( We actually are made out of atoms. Too bad--so sad.) But believe whatever you wish. I love listening to Karl Pilkington. Maybe you'll one day be able to compete with him to delight us with fanciful notions.
@ananiasacts Atoms break down into energy which is just frequency. So the material world is just a deceptive illusion. This is why the Creator says live in this world but not of it. He also tells us that we are not from this world and for that the things of this world will hate us. You need to do some research on the New World Order. Science is merely an idea that man came up with to try and explain the material world. It exists merely as a concept.
My innate sense of morality simply precludes worshipping dictators. I couldn't care less what an entity like god does or says. If he gets his jollies having me tortured for eternity after I die I suppose that's a risk I"ll just have to take. Even if I believed it, I'd rather be punished than be the pawn of an entity as morally bankrupt as the god of Abraham. But I do suspect that it might be a good thing for people like you. I hope if makes you happy.
Dwade, I find your statement funny, "He will revile His purpose..." Revile- To speak abusively. I think you are agreeing with me without even knowing it! Maybe you meant to say "reveal"!
Do you pray to nature? Do you have a relationship with nature? Are you guided by natures winds? Do you worship nature? Did nature die for you? Does nature forgive you? Does nature promise eternal life?
Your non-answer to my question shows me how little you actually examine your own belief system and how narrow-minded your thinking is. It's sad that you cling to religious dogmas and miss the actual miracle of life that unfolds in front of you in the form of nature.
My faith in God and Jesus' resurrection has far more circumstantial evidence to support everything that has been written in the Bible including all prophecy from the old testament to the new. It takes a monumental leap in faith to be an evolutionist. Faith without spirit or truth belongs to the evolutionist. Your use of the term miracle is interesting. I always thought a miracle was a supernatural occurrence. If there is no God how can a "miracle" accrue in nature?
is that the real reason you're a christian? it seems to me that most people only follow christianity for the reward of "eternal life" instead of "eternal damnation", as opposed to doing the right thing and being a good person because its just the right and moral thing to do. you go ahead and have your eternal life, where you live life free of human desires, which ultimately means an eternal life of nothingness. have fun sitting in your wooden chair in the sky for eternity. sounds like fun.
What is the right and moral thing to do? Who disigned and set in place what is right and wrong? As a Christian I do not live life free of human desires. I am working on and will continue to work on what is right and what is wrong and through prayer and guidance from the Holy spirit act accordingly. Will I mess up and sin, YES. This is where the greatness of Jesus comes in. He sacrificed his life to atone for the sin I have committed and the sin I will commit in the future. All sin is the same.
wow how complex and intricate more then what any human can design

I never said you will burn in hell, that is not for me to Judge. That's between you and God. Christianity is all about your relationship with God. It is not a religion. How is your relationship?
dwade277 2 years ago

@ananiasacts

Maybe you'll one day be able to compete with him to delight us with fanciful notions.
ananiasacts 2 years ago

:D

The video is misleading when it say nature designed the complex ear. This is old status quo thinking. God designed the ear. Truth

"Truth is what sounds right, beauty is what looks right, beware of symmetry, beware means be aware".... .thank you for you constructive comment !?

Jesus said "I am the truth I am the light I am the way" I think your video is cool but it does not give credit where credit is do!

How does "God" differ from your definition of "nature"? Aren't they two words for the same thing?
echomedia 2 years ago
Do you pray to nature? Do you have a relationship with nature? Are you guided by natures winds? Do you worship nature? Did nature die for you? Does nature forgive you? Does nature promise eternal life?
dwade277 2 years ago
Your non-answer to my question shows me how little you actually examine your own belief system and how narrow-minded your thinking is. It's sad that you cling to religious dogmas and miss the actual miracle of life that unfolds in front of you in the form of nature.
echomedia 2 years ago
My faith in God and Jesus' resurrection has far more circumstantial evidence to support everything that has been written in the Bible including all prophecy from the old testament to the new. It takes a monumental leap in faith to be an evolutionist. Faith without spirit or truth belongs to the evolutionist. Your use of the term miracle is interesting. I always thought a miracle was a supernatural occurrence. If there is no God how can a "miracle" accrue in nature?
dwade277 2 years ago
is that the real reason you're a christian? it seems to me that most people only follow christianity for the reward of "eternal life" instead of "eternal damnation", as opposed to doing the right thing and being a good person because its just the right and moral thing to do. you go ahead and have your eternal life, where you live life free of human desires, which ultimately means an eternal life of nothingness. have fun sitting in your wooden chair in the sky for eternity. sounds like fun.
sqeebelee 2 years ago
What is the right and moral thing to do? Who disigned and set in place what is right and wrong? As a Christian I do not live life free of human desires. I am working on and will continue to work on what is right and what is wrong and through prayer and guidance from the Holy spirit act accordingly. Will I mess up and sin, YES. This is where the greatness of Jesus comes in. He sacrificed his life to atone for the sin I have committed and the sin I will commit in the future. All sin is the same.
