@captainschau Farsight is an iconic figure in the Tau empire, he should have a forgeworld model that is fully detailed. With better, up-to-date rules, (at least make his sword actually do something) But anyways, I believe you are right Farsight would not abandon the Greater good, he is too wise and brave, he just has a grudge against orks.

The Tau have their secrets, whether sinister or otherwise we won't know for a while. However, it's silly to say Tau have no emotions. They have a weak psychic signature, this is why they have not fallen prey to Chaos... for now.
The tau, I think, is subject to the pheromones released by the ethereals, thus making them actually kinda of drones. ANd it is after all called the tau empire.
Remember when the etheral dies, all of the tau forces become demoralised and retreat. For no obvious reason. They might as well fight on.
They can and do. Dark Crusade sort of simplified/modified some rules for the sake of convenience. In the TT, if Ethereal dies, Tau units take a Morale Check. There's a chance that Tau forces retreat off the field, and there's a chance you get a whole lot of angry Tau charging towards the enemy with an attack bonus.
Same deal with fluff. When Commander Farsight's Ethereal dies, he and his forces fight on.
The reason there is no chaos tau is because they do not have the ability to travel using "warp speed". The warp is the source of chaos in the 40k universe therefore there is no chaos tau.
@Lazydragon100 also chaos infects people because in the 40k universe everyone has some level of psychic power which it taps into (explained briefly in fire warrior) which humans have to a high degree. The tau have no psychic ability on any level (not even the etherials which is why Ko'vash is killed) so they can't be turned to chaos.
@Zethuriel mmm. I'm not saying definitely but Ive heard that some tau ethereals do have the possibility of going rogue and using the idea of the greater good to falsely lead his followers into unspeakable deeds. but I just heard that =)

Fanboys ftw. Space Marines beat everything, because thats what posterboys do- win. The tau are, in fact, arguably better at tactics and firepower than the Space Marines for the fact that they cannot simply drop in anywhere and expect their armour to protect them. All I'll say is Imperial Armour 3. A tau cadre vs 120 marines and 2 dreads ended with the marines down to 40 with one surviving dreadnaught. A loss of a single marine is a huge blow to a chapter-to the Tau it is not.
damn thats a real shameu abandoned the mod u seemed to of done so much and gotten so far. Still quite a few people like myself play dawn of war1 because the multiplayer is a lot more team based and more fun but its also good they are bringing out the tau in Dow2

They can and do. Dark Crusade sort of simplified/modified some rules for the sake of convenience. In the TT, if Ethereal dies, Tau units take a Morale Check. There's a chance that Tau forces retreat off the field, and there's a chance you get a whole lot of angry Tau charging towards the enemy with an attack bonus.
Same deal with fluff. When Commander Farsight's Ethereal dies, he and his forces fight on.

The reason there is no chaos tau is because they do not have the ability to travel using "warp speed". The warp is the source of chaos in the 40k universe therefore there is no chaos tau.

@Lazydragon100 also chaos infects people because in the 40k universe everyone has some level of psychic power which it taps into (explained briefly in fire warrior) which humans have to a high degree. The tau have no psychic ability on any level (not even the etherials which is why Ko'vash is killed) so they can't be turned to chaos.

Fanboys ftw. Space Marines beat everything, because thats what posterboys do- win. The tau are, in fact, arguably better at tactics and firepower than the Space Marines for the fact that they cannot simply drop in anywhere and expect their armour to protect them. All I'll say is Imperial Armour 3. A tau cadre vs 120 marines and 2 dreads ended with the marines down to 40 with one surviving dreadnaught. A loss of a single marine is a huge blow to a chapter-to the Tau it is not.

o'shovah farsight is a great commander. He is an expert orc fighter. But he knew the etherals trickery and exiled himself from the empire. His tau are the only ones that arent mind controlled. Also they are better at close combat. But he doesnt league himself with the pathetic kroot or vile vespid. Farsight is the true greater good

O'Shovah was great once. It all changed when he acquired the Dawn Blade on Arthas Moloch. Now many believe, myself included, that he is under the thrall of the Necrontyr.
It is just as well, he will get what's coming to him. He may be an Orc fighter extraordinaire, but now that a full-scale WAAAGH! fighting him, can his hotheaded Fire Warriors defeat the Green Tide?
Only through the guidance of the Ethereals and the Greater Good can the Tau succeed in bringing order to the galaxy!
