wait im not a rocket scientist but . if the turbos are that low to the ground and so close to the road if it rains it will ruin the wastegate and fry the bolts on the turbo right ?
are u guys for real?? bottom turbos with the air filter (intake) so low to the floor, this is a street car, if it gets stuck in a rain storm and passes through a big puddle of water with the turbos being so low, it may suck water and damage either the turbos and/or engine.
that was early development. when the pictures and video were taken, the owner wanted to play around on the street so we put filters on the turbos. The final product has a single air filter/intake in the engine bay so water has no effect on the turbos unless they drive through 3 feet of it.
I have a SRT8 superbee '07 I'm in NY I would like to know if you guys have a set up (turbo) done for this car. With the injectors and all.I have a auto repair shop with 8 mechanics so installation wouldn't be a problem.
they offer 1 or 2 turbo for dodge charger. the set up cost around 2000 dollars. that real cheap to buy it. with 5.7 hemi, you get around 540 hp and with 6.1 hemi , you get beast 630hp. NOW THATS TWIN TURBO.
i have a magnum srt will the set up for a charger be the same? and do this company have SC too? im still debating between a SC or having it TT any suggestions? mods so far: slp loudmouth 1, slp longtube headers, CAI, throttle spacer, stroked to a 426, iron heads, diablo tuned. right now ive got give or take, 590rwhp and 588( 2nd dyno showed 589) rwtq. thnx for the help sweet charger!
The STS turbo system is such a bad design in so many ways. Turbos are driven off of exhaust energy. When you u put turbos at the real axle, most of that energy is already gone. Grab hold of the header where it comes out of the engine, then once the scarring heals, grab it at the end of the exhaust pipe and tell me the difference.
The closer to the cylinder, the better for turbos. Then, because it's so far back, the compressed air has to be pumped all the way to the front, to go through the intercooler, then into the intake. All that distance wastes energy/power and efficiency. They' re cheap for a reason, because they are easy to design. Don't have to work in tight engine compartments.
Look at Lingenfelter's design or Incon (who designed his for him), the turbos are very close to the cylinder, like the design posted here. So just a word of caution. If you pay peanuts, you get monkeys.
