  • Even if its not 100% accurate, its still more entertaining than any fucking church sermon, ya puffs!

    Awesome video!

  • Don't know where you got your information for this, but it's way wide of the mark. Might be worth mentioning, too, that Copernicus (to whom you wrongly ascribe 'everything Galileo did') was a Catholic priest - rather making a mockery of the claim that Galileo ended the Church's monopoly over science and reason.

  • I may have to call you out on that last statement...

  • As seen on the THCfarmer..

    Wonder if accurate.

  • kraj je najbolji

  • Heeyyooo I'm Gallileeeeoooo.

  • Last part....the fu...

  • duh?

  • Galileo affected western world to so much that Einstein himself changed his equations, because he couldn't stand dynamic model of the universe. He believed universe to be static and until he was proved wrong by other scientists using classical mechanics of Newton.

  • is it lol ?

  • max needs to calm down

  • I'm glad I found this because honestly I was seriously considering of just watching anime instead of studying but I thought "Wow dude I just remembered there's actual smart stuff on youtube" & searched for the scientific revolution, test is tomorrow, & this was the first interesting thing I found so I thank you for feeding my addiction to funny videos & more or less giving me a quick lesson, take no offence but I'll still have to look at notes & make fucking flash cards. sigh. Thank you sir!!

  • Vulgar yet educational, I love it. One thing though, Galileo didn't invent the telescope. Hans Lipperhey invented the telescope, but never used it to view the sky. Galileo heard about it and built a better version (without ever seeing one) and used it to view the sky.

  • @FreeStyle786

So first Copernicus, then Lipperhey. Galileo was the ultimate plagiarising rip off artist.

  • please help me ı have homework about this video ı need to translate it but ı cant understand it completly please send me a message what does it says(word by word)

  • @bedirhandfb Oh you're going to fail at life.

  • Some of the funniest educational things ever!

  • This video is so wrong that I'm not even going to bother to correct it.

  • Galileo said: "All truths are easy to understand once they are discovered; the point is to discover them." We need to start working together to discover the truths of life that we all have in common. This is how we can unite and focus on our essential similarities instead of our dividing differences. Search for "Truth Contest" in Google and click the 1st result, then click "The Present" to open it. What it says will turn this world right-side up if it reaches enough people.

  • i should really stop watching these videos in library because i keep bursting in laughter! oh dear...

  • Subscribed.

  • I laughed out loud when Leibniz made an appearance.

  • funniest educational videos on the net. lmfao

  • Nope

  • this is 3:39 min

  • galileo didnt invent the telescope

  • @Rasessenis did he not? i heard he got the idea from a childrens toy ...

  • @Rasessenis no but he developed it enough to view the moons of jupiter :)

  • Zero punctuation ripoff is AWESOME! @CollegeBinary Keep up the good work!

  • he speaks very fast!

  • I like how the 'modern philosophy' stereotype guy is basically Cornel West.

  • Galileo didn't invent the telescope however he did build one for himself

  • lol, aristotle's illustration is funny :D

  • dude im studying for my socials final and watching all his vids.,.. fucking thank you!

  • I shat in the living room of philospihy all the time =D

  • galileo wasn't just smart, he had balls!

  • brilliant..fuckin brilliant !!

  • I think Galileo was also set up by the evolved meaning of skeptic that came about around the 1580s.

  • That last part is true.

  • Confucius Confucius Confucius!

  • do Bakunin

  • You sound like you have a nose full of....something.

  • @MrDjGoja

Sounds like he has a nose full of "being Australian."

  • I wish I could put this in my presentation!

  • as a philosophy student i laugh at people studying science.

  • @YoursSinsIntoMe care to explain why.

  • its funny the way you explained it but I kinda like it.. Your fucking British accent sucks big time!!! Rest is super good.. Thanks :)

  • @sanK291 errr....british accent? you stupid arsehole he's australian....or strayan as i like to say it

  • Renes Descartes copied Al Ghazali (supposedly).

  • @faro0485 also the bhagvad gita (ancient hindu religious text) is all about how the only thing that can be proved is that only you are real.

  • @RajDrummer1 Quote said verse of my ancestors.

  • I love these little things. They feed my three minute attention span perfectly.

  • It is great but too bad for the swearing and the bathing suit beauty at the end mean I cant use it

  • what was that song u played at the intro

  • @lorenson52

    Night on Bald Mountain

    /watch?v=iCEDfZgDPS8

  • This video almost redeemed itself at 3:09. That bit about Galileo inventing the telescope- unforgivable. As well as leaving out how Galileo used the telescope to help organized crime pricefix goods since they knew when ships were coming to port before anyone else.

  • HA HA HAH AWESOME!!!

  • Thats a hilarious ending, I love Philosophy!

  • Galileo didn't invent the scientific method, he got it from the arabs (perhaps indirectly) ie from those like Ibn Haytham. And he got that scientific method from the quran.

  • You know what?! SWEET FUCK ALL

  • Science should not be bundled as one with philosophy.

  • Galileo did not invent the telescope, it was invented in the Netherlands. Galileo did however figure out how it worked when he heard about the invention and made his own. Galileo was also the first to use it to observe extra terrestrial objects

  • How do you get a a Philosophy student off your front porch.....pay him for the pizza.

  • @AziMeX Good thing I'm a teacher and not a student....

  • Copernicus' sad face FTW.

  • "To busy having sex with wymin"!? ...i must be studying the wrong kind of philosophy then...

  • No one thinks that Descartes successfully "beat up" Aristotle's philosophy. Most everything Descartes said was silly by comparison.

  • @Aristotle2000 Some suggest that Descartes got his ideas from Al Ghazali.

  • Galileo: Great mind

    Einstein: Genius mind

    Newton: Extraordinary mind

    Bill Gates: Brilliant mind

    Me: Nevermind... :P

  • @angiierous Bill Gates : /watch?v=lDcgeqyyk8U

  • I thought descartes was catholic

  • Hey I was looking at the moon through my telescope i invented using science and I saw mountains n shit....LMFAO Awesome vids man. hahahaha

  • I got a job at the philosophy factory. I make $15.00/hr....cha-ching.

  • why don't you speak faster? ....

  • @newFranzFerencLiszt because he isn't yahtzee

  • This is so great. Thanks for destroying my stereotype of modern philosophy students as chain-smoking, black turtleneck wearing, anal, brooding, humorless dandies.

  • LOL!funnystuffman

  • @nrclay7 I agree. I don't know why people think we're good with women.

  • If I remember correctly, the church was perfectly OK with Galileo, until he insulted some big shot who had connections to the church.

  • Now that at the end is truth most holy.

  • right here right now, oberving cause and effect simulatious, like a cell dividing. the water never moves, their is a fillament ontop which carries matter, but water is a substance no a matter, or particulaire.

  • "galileo then shat in philosophys living room, walked outside and invented the telescope" .... well said well said

  • to blame Aristotle for everything such as creating the idea that the sun orbits the earth is a bit unfair as that was the ptolemaic view. Although I heartily agree with science and philosophy being separate (connected but not the same thing)...now somebody should go explain that to Dawkins...

  • This video paints a pretty incorrect picture of the history of science and the relationship between philosophy and science.

    youtube.com/watch?v=cG3sfrK5B4E

  • I am a qualified scientist. At the end i laughed, and then nodded and went "yeah that sounds about right."

  • @mistermordancy

"I am a qualified scientist" what the hell does that mean? any one who does an experiment can call himself a scientist, you don't need a specific qualification.....I can only assume you mean you have a doctorate in some field?

  • YOUR A GENIUS LMAO

  • lol do copernicus

  • Hahah. Epic winning

  • I like the drawings of Kepler and Leibniz.

  • hahahha Amazing stufff !

  • 20 second Philosophy: @3:16 - 3:36

  • well, 30 history essays i had to do for homework all in a video that still has time for humor, nice. now you need to make one for greece.

  • philosopher's read Dawkins, why is a evolutionary biologist a philosopher, the selfish gene is science!

  • i thought francis bacon invented the modern scientific method, not galileo.

  • Modern philosopher = carries a copy of Dawkins?? What reputable philosopher even begins to consider Dawkins' works as philosophically intelligible?

  • @AgApE010 No one. Absolutely no one.

  • @Mastefaro He does have 3 minutes to get the info in...

  • You talk too fast, so you need to see the video twice

  • I have a Philosophy teacher does this mean hes a beast at getting laid?

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHA AWEEEEESOOMMMEEEEEE!!!

  • Great Job on these Vids...just found them.....or did they find me?

    Hmmmmmmmmm?

  • you abosolute legend mate!

  • this was amazing

  • Fuck that was amazing.

  • Copernicus was never condemned by the Church. In fact the Copernican theory was applauded by Pope Clement VII before Galileo. Galileo was just an ass who was just asking to be imprisoned ... so he was.

Fuck Galileo for shitting on philosophy.

  • "There are only two ways of living, one is as if nothing is a miracle, the second is that everything is a miracle. I believe in the latter." --- Albert Einstein

"I used to be a atheist, till I thought I was God." --- John Lennon

    Psalm 34 :::))))

    Few read that:::::::::

    Nice work, :))))

  • Ahhh, I love you

  • The crude drawings compliment the script and narration impeccably well. Did you draw them?

  • This is great but srsly, get a better mic.

  • OK I just saw this video with the modern philosopher :/ :\ but I'll still say, "Do Dawkins!! Do Dawkins!!" :D

  • @TheMaven19 Man, that guy is a great scientist, but he is not very good for philsophy. Also, he has not contribuited greatly to the philosophical history, yet. Also, he has not invented a new philosophical system or something that great that would put him among the greatest philosophers.

  • Is it weird that i know a militant atheist who looks exactly like the picture of the 'modern philosophy' guy at 0:21?

  • lol you had me at hello but i subbed on the N vid

  • Damn right!!!! xD <3

  • I think this one is my favourite outside of Nietzsche.

  • @all Contrary to legend, both Galileo and the Copernican system were well regarded by church officials. Galileo was the victim of his own arrogance, the envy of his colleagues and the politics of Pope Urban VIII. He was not accused of criticising the Bible, but disobeying a papal decree. He never left his Christian faith

  • @grfield1 Galileo was 'interrogated (tortured?) by the Inquisition under the direct command of Pope Urban VIII over his printed Dialogue Concerning the Two Chief World Systems. Arrogance?

I suppose the Copernican system was loved by every catholic, except the Pope and his Inquisition.

Perhaps it was arrogant to state mathematical calculations that chipped away at the Catholic god's omnipotence.

I would be hard pressed to leave 'my' christian faith as well if the punishment was death.

  • @AtheistDaddy Galileo appeared before the Inquistion in 1615 and was neither imprisoned nor tortured. He got a mild censure and was sent on his way. By 1633, he faced charges that he had persisted in promoting his theories as though they were matters of faith and provable by the Bible. Galileo was incarcerated, not, as is commonly thought, in some gloomy, rat-infested dungeon, but in the palace of Niccolini, the Tuscan ambassador to the Vatican and an ardent supporter of Galileo

  • My History teacher shows us these whenever we're learning about philosophers. We love this stuff!

  • lol, mountain 'n shit xD

  • Aristotle had no idea what can of worms he had opened with regards to religious dogma, poor guy

  • Do Leibniz!!!

  • the illumanti don't what us to beleive in Aristotle, that why they hire galileo to fake all his discoveries to untermind Aristotle's teachings. Why do the illumanti don't what us to beleive in Aristotle. because Aristotle is the word of zeus and the illumanti worship Eris and Hades.

  • @abarrathemaster Tin Hat - quick! They may be listening!

  • Galileo did not invent the telescope. It was invented by Anonymous.

  • Comment removed

  • Excellent.

  • lol, super funny :D

  • KEPLER! Forgot about him! I'd love to see 3 minutes of him trying to be as awesome as Galilei! LOL

  • AMEN!

  • Please do one on Heidegger ? :D

  • lol your a funny cunt mate

  • Copernicus, Galileo...Hello? What about Ibn Al-Shatir?

  • @jjhjjff

Don't be silly, we all know perfectly well that nobody named Ibn contributed anything about anything to anything.

  • Also Galileo was never in prison...he was invited to the vatican and stayed 11 days as a guest of the pope who was an admierer of Galileo's. He was given ample opportunity to prove heliocentric theory as fact but could not. You know who finally did prove it as fact? That's right the Catholic Fuckin' Church, Beeotch! Jesuits working at the vatican's observatory provided the final proofs of Copernicus. Wanker!!!

  • Yeah, actually the church did not doubt Galileo base don the bible...but on Galileo's own inability to prove Copericus' theory. The church has this crazy notion that theories that aren't proven by science must not be taught as fact (nutty, right?) and Galileo was instructed not to teach heliocentric theory as a fact because it was not proven. Galileo did not "invent" scientific method...

  • @wjb67

"The church has this crazy notion that theories that aren't proven by science must not be taught as fact"

Because the church has never taught anything not proven by science as fact...right?

  • @mellamosean Name one. The fact is, the church created scientific method and has ALWAYS maintained a strict difference between what is an article of FAITH and what is scientific FACT. Perhaps you should base your opinion of the church on fact and not myth? Perhaps.

  • @wjb67

the age of the earth, creationism, heaven and hell, angels, god. religion is not based on scientific fact. believe if you want, but please don't cite science as a source in favor of your beliefs.

  • @mellamosean The church has no official position on the age of the earth. Perhaps you are confusing the church with groups of biblical literalists who are but a fraction of Christians...not neccessarily part of the Church. As far as heaven, hell, angels, God etc. The church considers them articles of faith...not "fact" . Again, learn more about the church before you toss your opinions around...and any time you'd like to answer my original question you go right ahead.

  • @mellamosean Oh, and by the way...it was a Catholic priest who codified the Big Bang theory, was it not? Age of the earth indeed. I never cited science as a basis for anything. And I quite sure I didn't mention what it is *I* believe. Please go back and read what I wrote again...then come back and answer my question. Thanks.

  • @wjb67

Ok, I take back "age of the earth," and "creationism." You gotta understand, its hard for an atheist to keep track of who believes what. So the Catholics may be less crazy than other Christians. As far as I know, people essentially consider "faith" the same thing as "fact," despite the different words and meanings.

  • @wjb67

And I could give a fuck what theories were suggested or confirmed by priests. Irrelevant.

Fuck the church. Maybe it has been good for promoting science in some cases, but it also gets in the way of the spread of ideas. Index Librorum Prohibitorum.

And know, you never mentioned what you believed; however, comments like this "That's right the Catholic Fuckin' Church, Beeotch!" suggest you follow the catholic church... just as my comments suggest, well take a guess.

  • galileo did not invent the telescope. they existed long before he made one.

  • lol "hey guys, i've been looking at the moon through my telescope that i invented using science and i saw these mountains n shit".. just great

  • I saw these mountains and sh*t... lmfao!!

  • This is brilliant!!!

  • I throw my telescope in the air sometimes, singing ayooo, I'm Galileo!

  • @DikkeShitRassengan AHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAH thats a good one ahahahah

  • I hope you realise how much I'm depending on these videos to get me through my A-levels.

    I kid. Kinda.

  • galileo didnt invent the telescope he was just the first to look in the sky with it

  • This was fucking awesome. Thank you hahah. Informative and hilarious.

  • this was sooooo worth looking into hahahahahah

  • SCIENCE the incredible condom!

  • Francis Bacon needs more credit in this vid...
