If you think that Blemish was a difficult listen, just wait until Sylvian's next release, titled 'Manafon', assaults your ears. Prepare to be challenged.
I haven't gotten into David Sylvia so far, as I haven't heard any proper ambient tracks by him, but here's one, and it's good! It's got that float-y, warm, ethereal sound to it.
I recommend you check out "Alchemy - an Index of Possibilities", "Plight + Premonition" and "Flux + Mutability". Those are great albums and they sort of fit the description (ambient, float-y & etheral). :-)
this is a robert fripp thing with someone elses name on it.

I wish I could capture David's ability to find music in the oddest collection of sounds possible to weave odd, fascinating, dreamy moods.

I don't really get it. I guess I'm not taking the right drugs. Enya is way more entertaining than this.

The atmosphere of this song reminds me of the album Evening Star from Fripp and Eno.

You're all nuts.
Blemish is a masterpiece, and the best he's done yet.

If I were to produce music, I'd create stuff like this often. But David has already masterfully done what is in my thoughts so I can simply enjoy...

I agree with you, NJD.
Blemish was the only blemish on an otherwise spotless career.
