good to see you. in that while I've had ANOTHER brain operation which I'm just recovering from. I hope to start back to work Wednesday if doc releases me. and I need to get writing again!!
I've never read The God Delusion, but I might get around to it one of these days, I like to form my own views, I think the book, is based on Richard's views, not sure, but I like explained pieces, for example, TheThinkingAtheist, is a very good channel, often explains things rather well, and in depth.
Whoa... The triumphant return of UK15! Nice batch of reading. I started my summer with a Bradbury collection, "The October Country." Wonderful but quite different than his usual fantasy stuff. These particular tales dealt with some very damaged souls, nothing overtly supernatural, but some astounding writing. The man is a veritable Rembrandt of Words. One of the few writers who can evoke a sprawling panorama with such economy of language. Anyway, thanks for the update sir!
You got a new TV in backround or what? Missed seeing and hearing from you.
i thought you were busy coming up with a idea for the Pepsi's Refresh Project for positive ideas that could help change the world or something :D hope will see you soon a two part video! why not :D
Josh, Great to see you again. I am happy to see you are well. Yankees are #1 Bro Hope you ae having a great summer. Summer is coming to an end really quick for me. I am gearing up for college this year.
You should pick up a copy of the complete stories of John Cheever (Chekhov of the Suburbs, Ovid of Ossining, etc...), arguably the finest American short story writer of the second half of the last century. Among other things, he was a rampantly bisexual, alcoholic Europhile WASP, so I'm sure he'd at least spark an interesting reaction. Also, spare a thought for the poor old Hitch, who's suffering from oesophageal cancer. Just don't pray for him; it would really piss him off...
Conderate Kid! I really missed you bro, we had posters of you all over Rutland as missing, so glad ur back. Hmm Red Sox dead bro, sorry to tell you. Love the Rays? Anyway awesome to see you in a video and it not reading some wack poem to fat pip smoken guys like last summer! Yur brooooooooooo, Taylor
Josh, great to see you back on YouTube. Post more often please. I'm a writer (mostly essays), more than a reader, but it's good to listen to you discuss books and authors. What are you up to these days? What do you think about the Korean situation? Looks like another war our country coming real soon.
Josh, I recommend a book called "Turn Neither to the Right nor to the Left: A Thinking Christian's Guide to Politics and Public Policy" by Dr. Eric Schansberg. He is an economics professor at Indiana University Southeast. He also teaches bible classes at Southeast Christian Church in Louisville, Kentucky. Google him and the book for some book reviews and such.
Great to see you posting again Josh! I have read The God Delusion and the response book by Alister McGrath. McGrath does a excellent job responding to Dawkins, so I am glad you got that one:).
Never read Dawkins. I love Bradbury. Does the Stories of Bradbury have a short one called THERE WILL COME SOFT RAINS? To me that one is his best and I have not seen it since 1968. Let me know please
@lonewolf13scott Haha, yes lonewolf it does and we read that one recently in high school, amazing read and a coincidence that you bring it up now, haha. GREAT STORY INDEED.
You've returned!!! Dawkins has his place in this world. Now, that place maybe a hospital, but it's a place nontheless, LOL. A book I've been meaning to read but can't seem to get around to is "Losing Our Religion: The Liberal Media's Attack on Christianity," The most interesting thing about this book is that it was written by an atheist whose father is a minister.
It's awesome to see you back! I must admit that the thought of reading dawkins makes my stomach turn. Maybe someday, when there's nothing to do, like watching paint dry, I would consider reading one of his books.
Shame about the celtics, i really felt it was gonna be their year.. one for the ages. Upset wins over cleveland and orlando to get there, tough journey.. then to have beat LA wow it had all the elements of a classic memorable championship run.
The Church Fathers. Their insight - especially in matters of Sacred Writ - is full of wisdom. Moder-day exegesis tends to be superficial - ignoring the 4 aspects of Biblical interpretation and focusing all too much on the one-sided "Historical-Critical exegesis".
