IIRC when first released the movie was a flop. The big name actors were teased about obviously having some big bills to pay if they signed on to such a stinker of a film, with such an unbelievable plot, etc.

But it seems it was just ahead of its time, scientifically speaking. Today its premise isn't outrageous - it's probably now technically possible to achieve the cloning. So over the years its audience and popularity has greatly grown. It's a great adventure now, and the kids are chilling.

I remember an interview with Frank Zappa where he said that as a kid in the 1940's and 50's he would always have to turn to the very last pages of the newspaper for the news that he wanted because scientific advancement just wasn't the front page news that it is today.

i admit that my colon is about to blow, but everyone knows, jews control hollywood. i doubt that led to brando being ostracized. he was a super draw at the box office and you know, jews love money.

peck did a lot of great movies and was a singular presence on screen. i'm not a fan of kazan and the black list red diaper babies. you have to be smart when you pick your fights, and peck appears to be shrewder than brando in this regard.

Film is fairly good---Premise is GREAT (Nature & Nurture & DNA sample---to recreate Hitler)

and Actors are some of 20th C's BEST.

(Watch regular TV for edited version more suited for teens---Would be good science ethics discussion starter. (PS good thing Peck altered his appearance so we don't think Atticus Finch crossed over to the dark side!!!) This---and GATTACA and Jurassic Park-good DNA related plots!
