  • Cool band & great music. I guess I should buy a couple of albums.

  • I discovered this song via Making The Band 3 on MTV. See, not everything MTV put outs is complete shit... ha.

  • inspired by Radiohead...clearly "there there"....?

  • just heard on thom yorke mix.. great tune

  • @teleekom - Me too, that's what led me here. I'm glad he back-announed it - he barely announced anything! (Don't get me wrong, I love Thom).

  • When I'm sitting down and typing words for my future New York Times Bestselling Novel Series, Logan Nichols, I imagine this song playing in the background when Logan and his freinds are walking up steep hills,.camping, and getting on trains. My mom told me about this banf, Low, and they're pretty cool.

  • great song! Mickey Rourke perfecti in his role !

  • This was the song in the background of my xanga in 8th grade

  • Great song, headr it in the movie "killshot" also; great movie too

  • I discovered this song like 2 years ago thanks to the film 'Killshot' - pretty good choice for those firsts scenes - and my first thought was how could I missed this song in the 90's.... because as somebody already mention it really fit the 90's spirit/sound...and to my surprise it is from 2005! Good to know that there is still some music in the new century that's worth it some attention!

  • someone told me this is a song about one man's adulterous passion for a woman married to an NBA player.

  • This monkey's gone to heaven...

  • There's people on the street getting diseases from monkeys

Yeah that's what I said their getting diseases from monkeys

Whys this happening please whose been touching these monkeys

Leave these poor sick monkeys alone

There sick they've got problems enough as it is

  • re: "can someone explain the 'monkey' reference?"

I don't know if this has anything to do with the song, it's just the way I feel about it:

I think the monkey in this song and the monkey in Peter Gabriel's "Shock the monkey" are the same thing: we think we are sophisticated humans, but we have these stupid un-evolved animal habits and fears. Gabriel is saying "we need to work on getting rid of this thing", Low is saying "that's it, we're getting rid of the little bastard even if it kills us."

  • Reminds me on woman in Killshot driving red Golf III :)

  • Poor monkey :(

  • Great Song for a great movie (Killshot)

  • The vocals are much like old Everly Brothers tunes!

  • Love this group.

  • Fucking love this song! I also love how this video is exactly 4:20mins long :P

  • a phenomenal group, they're in my top 5 of all time

  • something rare happens ... mormons with talent

  • <3 chick drummer.

i liked this song in eighth grade, like 03? glad to find it again

  • KILLSHOT

  • 4 peta members have watched this video

  • SO GLAD I HEARD THE ROBERT PLANT VERSION....NOW IV DISCOVRD THIS AWESUM BAND

  • David Dye's "World Cafe", this morning after the Robert Plant cover of the same tune.

Can anyone help with the song meaning?

  • I love low was blown away with the song from the movie which reminded me I had the cd which had been a chance discovery a year earlier low are one of those bands that reappear at the unexpected

  • that's my step uncle and aunt. most underated band of all time!

  • Killshot - terrible terrible movie, but brilliant opening, thanks to this track.

  • i love the video.... and if they played it live it would ROCK! i love the monkey puppet, the close ups, the snow, the electricity, the monkey on my back. and FYI theyre not all mormons.

  • I know it's not the "Low" style, but this song begs to be played more aggressively...

  • KILLSHOT

  • talented stoner

  • this is like the cult's "she sells sanctuary" that I like it more if I don't watch the video,,, it's embarrassing to watch,,, should've been them in the back of the blue cadillac and Mickey Rourke driving in silence,,, the entire video

  • @frongwadder u have ruined his song for me

  • Comment removed

  • @frongwadder i agree, i felt embarrassed when they started with the weird "john mayer" faces, and the girl...typical "broken, mtv orphan" face. song's good as hell though.

  • I liked this song from the film Kill Shot

  • @bladeszasza same place i first heard it, good song

  • We like the monkey.

  • This song is like...one of the best songs to just smoke a joint and just chill to....ya know lol

  • This is a great song, a real breath of fresh air from all the bitches, hoes, and money going around these days.

  • Low is one of my all time favorite bands.

Their music is something you can grow to love more as you get older ;p

  • i i am 27. I grew up in the '90's and I think Low is a great band.

  • love this... but i dont know why.. :D

  • I don't think being Mormon has anything to do with this, this is just a cool band. I heard this song at the intro of "killshot" and looked these guys up. Impressive.

  • @tygonejet1 Haha...same here. I loved that movie and I just remember thinking...damn it what was that song!! I have to hear it again. So I looked it up and I thank that movie for introducing me to this song and band.

  • omg what a depressed shit

  • Sehr geile Nummer, habe den Song zum ersten Mal als Titelsong des Mickey Rourke Films "Killshot" gehört.

  • I feel as though if Low had released this song in the mid-90's they could have taken the world by storm

  • @danthropomorph ya back in the good days when people could sing about their feeling and thought without being called emo or having someone else write it for them

  • @danthropomorph

I dont really feel this song .

  • @danthropomorph this song was more than likely influenced by the mid ninties thats why it sounds like it does

  • the beginning of "killshot" is the best moment of the whole movie. for this song

  • @behrrah Totally agree..it was awesome. Have you read the book? Its 10 times better than the movie. In the movie they cut out soo much!

  • Gtreat great!! I love them!! Great band!

  • killshot soundtrack ..greate!!!

  • awsome song!!!

  • this songs comes on towards the begining of KillShot. Great Movie

  • fuckin good tune

  • lol, I found about this song from the movie killshot as well. The movie was okay but whoever recommended adding this song at the beginning is a genius because it definitely describes what the movie is about, particularly towards the end with all the characters involved (the husband, wife, richie, and blackbird). I was a little upset with the end because it reminded me way too much of the character marv from sin city and that whole monologue seemed scripted for micky.

  • a great song from an awesome band!

  • big up ! skiller Tune ;-)

  • I think it is the monkey on sombodies back, specifically a chick he wants to bang...and well he killed it .. lol

  • could someone plz tell me what "monkey" means?thx.

  • it's an animal.

  • all right. then it's an animal with cool glasses

  • someone else nailed it by saying it's a monkey on somebodies back. That's what the whole movie is about really. The husband and wife have the burden of being attacked by thugs and they will not stop until they both die.

The character blackbird has a monkey on his back as well, so to speak, with richie nix. He gets robed at gunpoint and starts to like him, but at the end he sees what richie is really like and as the song implies, "the money dies tonight"

  • thX a lot, now I grab something about it.

  • hahaha, I meant "the monkey dies tonight"

  • Watched Killshot last night, and just had to find out more about the band behind this great song. Brilliant

  • Same for me I discovered Low watching that film. I realize now that I was so focused on the Britpop and UK Indie scene of the late 80s and 90s that I completely missed out the very cool US bands that were starting the slowcore genre at the time.

    Well, never too late!!!

  • thx 4 uploadin

  • Loud Bass. Beautiful Girl. Fragile harmony. What more do you want. Check out my channel for their Killshot (2008) appearance, with Mickey O'Rourke

  • darwin theory ? i still dont know what this song emans to me but like all songs my brain devolops its own meaning through ts own interpreation.

  • Yes thanks to Killshot... off all movies, to turn me on to something like this. This is such an amazing song, touching me at such a profound level... So few have yet discovered. This might be longest fuse mainstream hit to grace the charts in years... I can't stop playing this.

  • I serch it for 2 months. i heard it in kilshot but i didn't know who's the performers.

    Thank's blank

  • what the hell is this song about? murdering a "monkey", what's that mean!!!

  • darwin's theory

  • duh! jesus i'm an idiot. thanks

  • I also discovered this from the movie "Killshot", it fits the mood perfectly.

  • Put me on the Killshot list as well. When this song kicked in i knew what to look for afterwards.

  • thanks to the movie "killshot" for making me discover this fabulous song :)

  • @thetruerater5 good for you

  • BIZARRE AND OBSCURE, I FUCKIN LIKE IT

  • very sweet

  • Perfect, and the way that the aliens show up at the end, better than perfect. I was playing cards with friends and I could hear this song playing on the TV in the background and it immediately caught my attention. Wonderful stuff. What is the rest of their stuff like?

  • Better than you could imagine.

  • NICE

  • It's amazing how this song becomes so dark and unsetling through a simple harmony........this song is truly fantastic.

  • Right on.....talented Mormons

  • sub pop yeah!!!!
