If these had been truly wild hogs, they would have ran. The hunters were very obvious and the pigs to still be milling about when the hunters are standing around their tents would have never happened. Seems this is more a staged hunting event, I hate those, no sport in them. It's a cowardly way of hunting.

I've never gotten to hunt before, but I do have Wild Russian Boars on my list of things I'd like to hunt one day.

One of my friends went on a Boar hunt in Ohio and showed me pictures of not only what they had, but also what he shot and, I couldn't help but kinda feel he was jipped. All the 'Boar' where just domesticated pigs that where let loose and become wild again... It's just not the same to me.

After my research I would only use rifles on boars. They are so high-power, perfect for their fat butts. The CZ 550 Medium Battue is nice. I don't think I'd need a magnum round though... hmm more research.

Umm not really actually their pretty much right beside them. And people believe that alot of people brought over russian hogs or boars because there much more aggressive and dangerous and are much bigger then the average Amiercan ones. But the russian hogs started to mate and now there is a people in mainly the south parts of USOA and some have been reported to weight up to a ton.

if you get a big one, they do taste horrible, the butcher showed us pictures on why the big boars would taste bat, they have so much more fat, and it is almost interlaced into the meat, the smaller ones arent like that ;)

a good way to get rid of the overwhelming game taste (on any wild game) is to soak the meat in buttermilk overnight in the fridge. (Dont use the buttermilk of course), but this will soften the wild taste which many people do not like.

I'm so tired of hearing people say hunting with gun is a cheap unfair way to hunt wild animal..i mean just because its more accurate and more powerful. Anything that shoot and kill is a fair deal for hunting these days(shoot & kill). If you want challenge for hunting your game animal, how about trapping them. Now that is a real hunter! There is nothing different between a gun or a bow just that one is more accurate, powerful, and much louder.

I hunt wild hog in Arkansas every year, they really just get in the way of the deer. I like to use a crossbow, gonna start carrying a handgun for safety cause those beasts will take you down in a second. Almost had one take out my knee last year. I used a crossbow because it was different, by brother in law used blackpowder, and my father used a handgun, if you think a 30 yard shot at a running animal is easy with a handgun, you are full of shit. Spears are unsportsman like because they are inhumane in which the animal suffers.
