Sikhs should also do deeper self introspection as to where we are collectively heading - socially and economically. Punjab is drying up - life of agriculture seems short. Young men in Punjab are loosing their lives to dugs. Our repeated state governments have been amongst the most corrupt in the country.

What we need to do today is to preserve ourselves - promote our religion, see that we do not loose our future to drugs or to corrupt governance?

It is matter of great concern that Sikhs are being persecuted in France. Turban is a symbol of our religion, and of our distinctiveness. It is time that world (particularly France ) understands our right to practice our religion wear a turban. As Sikhs, we should actively project that turban is a symbolizes a man who believes in peace, equity and justice instead of fear and violence - on the basis of Gurbani.
