It's a koken, or strike with the back of the wrist. It can be used, for example, when someone grabs your hand. You free your hand by pulling hard in a vertical move, hitting the opponent on the chin at the same time.
im a brown belt and im wondering if i can do this kata for a competition they usually only let you do the kata if its at ur level and im not sure if this is a brown or black belt kata.?

This is a very strange kata, it looks more like somthing I would expect to see in Shaolin Kung Fu than in Karate.

In IKO, this is needed for the shodan test. Other branches may have it for nidan.

Douitashimashite, I think its called Koken-strike with the wrist. It looks good in Tensho;)
I'm A begineer aswel. Narushima is top drawer for jodan Mawashi-geri. My favourite kata is Pinan sono ni;) Gambatte

this kata is for nidan. so i think u should choose a diffrent kata. i recomend pinan sono go...
