all you can really silence is a co2 gun because the way a surpressor works is catches the gas and slows the bullet down below hearing level. btw you cant silence a weapon only surpress it.

First of all its quieter for the shooter because it directs the sound away from him/her. Also none of the noise you hear from shooting an airsoft gun comes from the bullet, It actually comes from the spring or the piston etc. when you pull the trigger where plastic hits plastic. but if you paint it and add a barrel in it, it might look kinda cool.

The sound that comes out when you shoot is not from the barrel, It's from the internal parts of the gun when you fire it and they clap together.
