Believe me, living right on the coast I buy fresh seafood daily for meals and have myself made plenty of shrimp dishes that didn't have the fishy aftertaste. If fish and other sea creatures are fresh & are cleaned and peeled right, they do not have that aftertaste. If possible and you are in that sort of area, go buy fresh shrimp off of a dock *not some "freshy thawed" shrimp* clean and cook it yourself. You will see what im talking about. Chains like RL are runing peoples idea of good seafood.
