  • Thank you for the video, you saved me $110.

  • Excellent video! Thanks.

  • fun video thanks...

  • this is the fastest $75 ive ever saved lol!

  • Thank you very much!!!

  • If it wasn't for the video the used car that I purchased at the dealer I would've gotten a huge surprise! While the salesman decided to show me the car in the detailing area. I took it upon myself to try to find out if the removal of the cabin filter was easy. It was nice n easy japanese. To my surprise the cabin filter wad full of a mouse feces!!! That alone knocked off 300 dollars of the cost of the car!! Thank you get and keep making great honda videos

  • The opening alone took like 1/3 of the video.

  • I had my 08 Civic for 3 years now and I never heard about Cabin filter till yesterday, even in Honda owners manual it doesn't say shit about it. Today I went and got Cabin and Engine filter (each for $18.99) and it took me about 2-3 minutes to replace both. THANX 4 THE VIDEO!

  • ughh...i HATE Curry Honda...worst Honda dealership ive been to..Gwinnett Honda is no better either...

  • thanks for posting this!!! you just saved me $100!

  • Thank you. The video was much easier to follow than any text instructions. It did take me a lot longer than your estimated timeline however. I had to deal with the fact that a chipmunk had built a snack bar in the filter housing, creating difficulty pulling the filter out because of all the empty hickory nuts stored in there. I'm guessing I pulled out at least 50 nuts before I could put the new one in.

  • The 1 dislike is a Honda tech

  • thanks..I had a mouse nest on top of my filter

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING THIS VIDEO!!!!!!!!

  • Is it just me, or does the airflow direction seem backwards on the filter frame?

  • @BoxingJ Yeah sorry, minor goof with the bright sun in my face

  • @DrnkSqrrlProductions I wasn't faulting you. I actually changed the filter today. The frame only fits one way, and the arrow points down.. while the airflow seems to go up.

  • LOL, dealers are such rip-off artists. They wanted to charge me $160 to replace the cabin and engine air filters. I bought both at Canadian tire for $30. I love my Civic hybrid. The only downfall is the shitty CVT transmission. I wish it had the same 6 speed manual as the CR-Z...fun factor would go up considerably. All in all it's been a great car for me.

  • i'm running mine without the airfilter and boy now i know how it feels like to live in the North Pole

  • Thank you, good sir...

  • Dealer wanted to charge me $154. $80 for the filter and $70 for labor. I spent $15.99 on a filter at Autozone and it took me less than two minutes to take out the old filter and put in the new one. Thanks!!

  • Its also very simple to change the engine air filter. Took all of one minute.

  • Thanks! Great job and video!

  • Thanks for the video! Would you happen to have produced a video on how to change the windshield wipers on the 8th Gen Civics too?

  • Dude! Not 5 minutes ago, I JUST replaced the cabin filter in my Honda using your Vid! You just saved me a minimum of $50 BUCKS!

  • my wife and I just saved $100.00 by changing our cabin air filters today ourselves today

  • Saved my sister $80, thanks for the video.

  • If you have half a brain you can find this in owners manual. Good vid though

  • @ChadPark05 No need for that kind of response, if that was the case why did you even bother watching the video.

  • Outstanding. Saved me a bunch. Thank you!

  • Hmmm...... do ya think the dealer feels just a little bit guilty by charging that much for such a simple job??

  • Thanks.

  • Quit being so cheap and spend the $130 to get it done right :P

  • Excellent video. Can't stand it when manufacturers try to make the simple jobs more difficult in order to get you to go to the dealer and spend insane amounts of money.

  • This is the same procedure for the Honda Fit. Thanks for the video and for sharing useful information with the interwebs!

  • Thank you!!

  • Ohhh man.... I didnt know it was that easy.... The F@#$ dealer charged me $109 for that job....

  • Awsome dude, I also love the music ;) thank you very much

  • Wow! That was easy. Thanks for the video :D

  • 2 minutes? More like 20 seconds! I can't believe dealerships charge that much for something so easy to replace.

  • i actually make the filter frames and install the filters at my work before we ship them to the assembly line. you forgot one simple detail there are tabs that stick up on the inside of the frame so make sure the ends of the filter are behind them so no excess debris gets through plus it helps that i get free filters for my si while im working there :)

  • Changing mine after 20K, damn that's hard, lol!

  • They were going to charge me $59+tax at the dealership. And I'm guessing the filter they were going to use to replace the existing filter was lower quality than the one I bought for $16.39 at Autozone. Great video! Thanks!

  • This looks very difficult.

lol, thanks, changing mine in the morning!

  • Awesome dude! Thanks!

  • Appreciate it. Took about 90 seconds!

  • OUTSTANDING video. Thank you so much for your time, the level of detail and the information you provided. You have done an incredible service to all of us mechanically challenged individuals! Can't thank you enough for your contribution!

  • I cannot believe I almost paid $100 for the dealer to change! I bought the air filter online and paid $20 and changed it in two minutes! Thanks

  • My local dealer said $100. I said "This is why no one comes here -- and why youtube is the best!" WOO thanks!

  • Thanks for this video. Amusingly enough, the picture of the Curry Honda that you showed was the exact dealership that I bought my 07 Civic from. I'm glad I won't need pay them to perform such an easy maintenance task.

  • @DocBryson LOL, well thats ironic as I just googled searched honda dealership for photo's to put into the video and just chose the best looking one. Where are you located?

  • @DrnkSqrrlProductions Atlanta GA. They wanted to charge me $98.95 for this service. The new filter cost me $25.57 at the dealership. Net savings = $73.38. Thanks again.

  • @DocBryson Saving money is a such a good feeling

  • Ummm, the dealer was going to charge me $111 for this job. I just picked up a new filter at the parts store for $18. You just saved me a lot of cash. Thanks!

  • @bartenderonduty Thats why I made it :)

  • @bartenderonduty Don't deal with stealership service departments. Service department is worse than sales people. Service advisors make over 100k at some stealerships. Mechanics don't even make half.

  • Most welcome everyone, glad this helping everyone save a buck!

  • Awesome! I'm a girl and you helped me change my own cabin filter....kudos!!!

  • @steviestephens8 You go girl!

  • @DrnkSqrrlProductions ~ Just so you know HOW awesome you are...the Fayetteville Honda dealership showed me how to get to your page to DIY...and thx for the response.... :o) ...so they know too...!!!

  • thanks guys, i just saved $50, buy installing the cabin filter by myself!!!

  • Thanks !!!!!

I bought the filter last week , and didn´t even know the location for it.

Found this great video on google !

  • Jiffy Lube wanted to charge me $60. Thanks so much for this DIY video...it saved me $45. Too cool.!

  • I know this might sound dumb but do they make a K&N filter for the Ac unit filter too?

  • Sexy!!! me like it.

  • So very helpful, I'm going to do this. Thanks for the great video.

  • Thank you sooo much, I have been changing my air filter and was wondering about the cabin filter. Looks like a no brainer.

  • Thanks a lot,,,, Great info

  • Awesome video... Thanks a lot!!!

  • Thank you for saving me from the dealership ripping me off.

  • Glad everyone is finding this useful.

  • @DrnkSqrrlProductions

does it matter what brand you use for the filter??i'm looking for cabin filters on ebay and there are cheap ones, and expensive ones....got any advice on whats the best?

  • @zoolanderhansel

*shrug* Not really, just make sure its capable of micron filtering otherwise its useless other then filtering dust.

  • Thanks for this video, it couldn't have been simpler and cheaper to do it myself.

  • Ha Ha, I had this done today with my oil change...68 bucks...I'm and idiot. They got me once but not again. Thanks a bunch.

  • Thanks! A place I go for oil changes (non-dealership) offered to change this filter out for 50 which is still outrageous. Only paid 10 bucks for the filter at a local auto parts store and changed myself within minutes.

  • Dealerships suck!! Please do videos on how to do the 15k maintenance/inspection because right now all I know how to do is oil and filters :(

  • Thanks, that was so simple!

  • Damn, and my dealer wants to charge me $70 to have this done. Thanks for the video. I'll do it myself and buy some beers with the money I save =)

  • thanks Drunk Squirrel, this was very informative. I just spent $57.75 to have this and the engine airfilter replaced. They had taken out the old filters to show me how dirty they were. I was furious when they charged me that to replace them. Note to everyone Don't go to Jay Lee's Honda in Gladstone, Oregon for anything, including a new car.

  • Oh...oh...you are the greatest!!!

  • Very awesome Video thanx you saved me some money!!! My 07 Civic has original filter now I put in a K&N yahooo!!!!

  • You guys totally kick ass! You saved me about $100. Thanks so very, very much!!!

  • I think i heard this song before in the videogame NEED FOR SPEED 3: HOT PURSUIT on the original playstation, man that was the game!! Thanks for the flashback,

  • @L1661N6

    Very good, you are correct!

  • @DrnkSqrrlProductions Ha I knew it!!

  • Dont forget the Euro model has a little device that lowers the door down slowly, its attached to the door by a little clip, but if forced it will break.

  • Thanks!! Excellent video. I bought multiple cabin and air filters at:

    fleetfilterdotcom

$9.95 each for cabin air filter, $10.53 each for air filter, plus shipping. I saved about $150 in 5 minutes.

  • awesome video!! thanks!!! I just saved $85! $15 for the filter (@ autozone)... 0 for installation!!! for 5 mins of work....

    F the dealership!

  • Amazing. Thank you!!! The dealerships can rot.

  • thanks a lot. i just saved bunch of money by watching this video :)

  • how often are you supposed to change it.?

  • You see how easy it is to get at! Have a look at it and if it looks dirty, change it.

  • Yes, my dealer wanted exactly $118 for labor and $38 for the filter. I was thinking of doing it twice! :))) What a rip-off!

  • Yeah, my dealer wanter 119.00 to relpace mine!! I never known it be that easy. DEALERS ARE STEALERS!!!!

  • thanks! hope u can post more vids on stuff we can save some money for this vehicle, instead of having to go get ripped off at the dealer

  • The dealer in Canada wants $120.

How much is the filter itself?

  • Now i know where the filter is....Gr8 video. Many thnx.

  • Welcome all, enjoy the extra cash in your pocket this holiday

  • Nice vid, Tks!!

  • The dealer wants $75 to do this. I bought the new filter today, and thanks to this video I will replace it tomorrow. Thanks!

  • If your dealership wanted to charge 75 to do this job ( and is very very very easy ) now I don't want to think how much they would try to charge me to change mine (Pontiac Grand Prix 97) it takes longer, you have to remove more things. not hard but is not as easy as this one!

  • man the Honda look so easy, I still struggle with my 97 Subaru cabin filter, the latchs thing won't even come off :/

  • Excellent! Thank you! Doing it today.

  • Thanks a lot! EZ PZ lemon squeezy :D

  • Very helpful! Thanks!

  • Thanks for this. I spent $21 at the auto store. The dealership wanted $60. IT IS THAT EASY.

    Don't get ripped off!

  • I'm sure everyone noticed this, but the NEW and USED should be switched as the the dirty one right now has NEW written on top of it.

  • Thanks a lot, I knew it was in the glove box. But I didn't know how it was that simple to drop the box.

  • Thanks a ton for posting this. I always knew it is easy but this video helped me do it literally in 2 mins. Thanks and keep them coming!!!

  • I just got ripped off on this procedure, ($50) thanks for making this. I will never pay for someone else to do this ever again!!

  • Yep, thats the idea!

  • This is sooooo helpful!!....Great job thanks for the help!!!!

  • THANKS! Shame on Honda for not including this in their manual.

  • Uhh, then their dealerships wouldn't make money :P

  • great diy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Awesome! I bought the filter for $15.95 at H And A online and installed it in a flash. The dealer wanted to charge $120. Insane.

  • You are awesome, THANKS for this very easy to see video. KUDOS to you!!!! A++++

  • its people like you that make the lives of people like me so much easier! i can't thank you enough for the $110 you saved me.

  • You guys rock!!! My dealership also wanted over $100 to change this filter.

  • Thanks so much for making this tutorial. Last week when my dealer told me I need to change the air filter, and going to charge me $120 dollars (not kidding!), and I remember seeing this video before so I told them no. You save me money! :D

  • NP guys. I had videos for 7th Gen Accord and 2nd Gen CRV's, but I still need to but them back up after I created a new you tube account

  • thanks so much for making me angry! I just paid the dealer to do it and now that I saw how easy it is I'm mad with myself.

I'll do it myself next time!! Thanks!!

  • NP, thats why I made it

  • thx a lot sir :)

  • Useful.

  • Thanks - you just saved me $100!
