The singing is wonderful, but why  put it in costume. As a theatrical performance it is obscene. Make it concertant .

La Caballe' purtroppo adotta le agilita' pigolate che Rossini nn voleva . La mitica Horne parte in quarta ....e chi la ferma? Nota di peggiori costumi mai visti adosso a due cantanti over 100 (kg)

This is a wonderful combination but Horne and Sutherland together are the ultimate bel canto duo, give it a go...

she performed with sutherland a lot, yes, but they never blended like this. I go back and forth on my opinion of joan sutherland, some roles i think she works great, others not so much. she also performed for WAY too long, the last 10 years or so of her career sounded lackluster, to say the least. Caballe and horne both have big, warm voices, and the character of their vibratos match a lot closer than horne did with sutherland, which is why i think they blend better.

i was there this day, and i still live with th ewonderfull remember in my mind and my heart. Never i hear a so master-piece of singing. And the stage was exactly made to increase our ability to hear the music. Complete and wonderfull performance!

Yeah, I think she forget the words and the melody too. She wouldn't keep everything else the same and then put in a variation that slows everything down and sounds improvised.
