What does a humbucker do?

Humbuckers are pickups that transmit electrical signals from the strings and allow them to be amplified. They have some reverse polarity thing going on that cancels out a lot of the hum that's normally in single coil pickups.

Dan...Have you ever owned or played a Les Paul with the older style PAF pick ups? Whats the difference??

PAF's have a real airiness to them. The notes really compress and then bloom after the initial attack. Very clear sounding, with double tone sizzle on top.

These Skatterbranes are very much like that. These alnico 5's are very similar in frequency response and sizzle on top...and remind me of vintage P90's. The A2 version Skatterbranes sound very much like PAF's.

The Les paul is great for blues stuff like that, And your pick ups and settings are top class mate.

These are great handwound pickups and have different output magnets...I think they're killer pickups. Better than the stock burstbuckers for sure.
