@wwwTheBookbaggs I'm listening with a sub right now and the low end if very audible. Maybe the setting is at fault... Flip's mic crackles and distorts too much. Take note, this is a very loud concert so maybe they had to compress a little so it doesn't distort.

yeah! if only the video resolution was a little higher, even 720p would be killer, then the q3 would be spectacular, but right now it's still the best because the audio is SO much better than any handheld HD video cam

I've seen Anthrax play and they do not exactly play softly (understatement). So my point is that this freakin' video cam is otherworldly because through their volume and maximum drive, I can hear every single note clearly almost as if each instrument was recorded separately miked.

PLEASE HELP. I just bought a Q3. Could someone private message me the best audio setting(s) highly recommended for band practice sessions and live gigs. Harder bands, metal, hard hitting drums, etc. I'm trying to record on the audio/video setting. What would be best for mic gain L/H/Auto, low-cut on/off. Does placement in the room matter. I've seen videos of the Q3 next to drums and the audio doesn't pop, peak, etc. Basically, what are the overall best settings combined. Thanks in advance.

@Greenmonster97 yeah, I've been told, GAIN: LOW (side of the device), LO CUT: ON. It sounds really well with a full band within a practice room. Haven't tried it live yet but, will very soon. Hope my comment helps you.

The zoom Q3 rocks .... what video camera can do this .... some reviews say the video quality suffers because of the attention to audio ( which suits me fine ) but look at this video ... does it look like the video quality has suffered very much ?

The video quality kind of sucks, but the audio is amazing. Plus it has an audio only setting, so when I get mine I can film with an HD camera and record with the Q3.
