Their the most biggest disappointment in season 3, and their going to be a massive disappointment in season 4. Read the fourth book, and see how disappointing, their gonna be in season 4.
Omg lol XD Why is everyone talking so bad about Twilight, and yet when someone talks bad about True Blood and Vampyre Diaries then everyone freaks out. First of all, True Blood is the most boring Vampire show I have ever seen. And Vampyre Diaries is too much like the House Of Night Series which there getting ready to make a movie of. And Twilight, well it's not better then the books but it's a whole lot better then True Blood. The Werewolves from Twilight would rip these ones in half.
@dawsy98 It's not only in the newer books and movies that when there are vampires, there's also werewolfs. I've heard from old stories that if a werewolf died a natural death, he or she would turn into a vampire.
I love how they keep Vampires how they should be in True Blood creatures of the night and burn in the sun but why cant the werewolves transform like regular werewolves

@akumatekkusu666 - There are lots of werewolf themes. in the sookie stackhouse books 'true' werewolves transform into wolves, but also in the book if a man is bitten and infected by a werewolf then he becomes a wolfman and can't completely change fully to a wolf. Quite a nice angle on it i thought.
So thats why they become full wolves and not walking wolfmen type things. Plus its TV so it actually makes the effects cheaper!
i think that although they differ strongly the programmes are a really good adaptation from the books.l do prefer the books naturaly because i read them first,but i just try and think of them as different things. also the casting for the programme is perfect!!
Furthermore.. truly fear inducing werewolves are just that. not CG nor something that I can strike in the nose with a rolled newspaper. In rare occurrences and days bygone the weres were crafted by hand with carbon materials after many a painstaking hour. loving labor. pure artistry.

@malfute Just for your fyi, they did use real wolves in season 3. If you watch the special features on the discs i believe its episode 2, they show you how they used real wolves.

To think that hollywood is americanizing it with 'Let Me In' ..named after the book instead of following suit like the first film and distancing itself out of respect. So it is a unabashed retelling or whatever the developers claim it to be.

Okay they say they "decided" to add a werewolf to the mix....Sheesh, has nobody read the Charlaine Harris Sookie Stackhouse books??????That is what TB is based on! The books are SO MUCH BETTER....they totally messed over some to fhe characters, and I don't think the changes improved it much in my opinion. I like the Twilight stuff, and I'm not 13 far from it lol. And there again, the books are much better. Though the first movie was better than book, got to the bad guys quicker.

I haven't read the books yet...i know fans (i'm sorry)...but it wasnt until recently that i started watching the show and from the first episode i watched i have been hooked. it just draws you in.

Lol, the girl talks like throwing a werewolf is a big surprise for Sookie and fans. If they've even bothered reading the novels they would know it gets even stranger and bad ass, werewolves are a mere hick up to what will happen later on. I just hope they keep playing it and following the series and I cant wait for Bubba the vampire to show up next season.

I had no intentions of even remotely checking out True Blood, because the Twilight book series has ruined vampires for me. At least up until a few weeks ago, when I caught the intro song to true blood and watched a full episode, I then downloaded both seasons and I've even got my boyfriend hooked. I think its proven that twilight has put shame on to the legend of vampires by turning them into glittery fags for 13 year old girls to lust over.
@pinkgiggleparamore I liked vampire movies, books and plays because they were terrifying creatures that went bump in the night. The author has taken that legend and molded Vamps into some glittery day walkers, thus totally distorting the entire legend all together, for a generation of teenage girls' entertainment. the grammar and writing in the books are poor and on a 5th grade reading level. try expanding your literature horizons and you'll see that these books are garbage.

Plus since im reading club dead im so excited about the werewolves they are badass nothing like the Weres in New Moon. 10x better even though i love sooommmeee Jacob Black.

i love the books and the show. but i feel like most (not all) of the things they add to the show would be things that could happen in the books. i don't really think that bill should've proposed to sookie, because it doesn't really fit with his betrayl in the book. but i am glad that lafyette is still alive, he adds humor. and i love eric and pam. true blood is better because i think the characters have way more depth and appeal. can't wait for season three! =)
I love how people think that TrueBlood's writers are creating their plot and everything when in reality, the whole series is based off of the Southern Vampire Mysteries by Charlaine Harris. The third season of True Blood is based on (and here's a shocker) "Club Dead", the third novel of the Southern Vampire Mysteries.
P.S. Stephanie Meyer is a late comer, no one is copying her. Twilight was out in '05. The Southern Vampire Mysteries' first book, Dead Until Dark, came out in '01

Any one who's read the books will already know this, im up to book number 8 and so far there will be loads more new characters of the supernatural, so cant wait to see who plays who in the coming seasons, I would say to anybody who hasnt read the books do because they are really good, i cant put them down ive just read book 7 and waiting for number 8 but i read it in about 3 days!!!!

It's not a new character...duh! Read the books the series is based on. Alcide Hervaux is a key character introduced in Charlaine Harris' third Sookie Stackhouse novel, "Club Dead." Season 1 covered the first novel; Season 2, the second book (though considerably straying occurred). In subsequent novels and hopefully seasons of True Blood we should be introduced to other Weres, shape-shifters, demons, fairies and witches.
If u have read the sookie stackhouse novel books, the werewolf is called Alcide.

In the books sookie finds out that bill compton, is not really who he says he is. Bill was sent by his queen to to get sookie to help her out. Sookie freaks, as he didn't really love her. The love trangle between bill, sookie and Alcide. Sookie falls in love with Alcide, who later in the story saves her life.Jason gets bitten by one of Alcide friends and turns into a panther by night
TRU BLOOD BOOKS WERE WRITEN AGES AGO SO YES TWILIGHT MAY BE BETTER WRITTEN NOVELS BUT THE TRUBLOOD SERIES KICKS ARSE OVER TWILIGHT, THEY PUT WAY MORE INFO AND CHARACTER TO THE WHOLE STORY LINE.
@flordia8 True Blood is based on the Sookie Stackhouse or Southern Vampire Series. And Those novels were around before Twilight. Not everything is based upon Twilight...Next thing you know, Dracula is based on Twilight.

the werewolf should be massive, the whole point of a werewolf is A) when they are in wolf form they are waay bigger than your average wolf, and B) in human form they are extremely powerful and dangerous.
True Blood does not follow the sookie stackhouse novels at all! They add so much crap that never even happened! Like the fact that lafayette is dead! and Bill does not propose to Sookie just to mention a few. Im still a HUGE fan though, cant wait 10 more days!!

Okay they say they "decided" to add a werewolf to the mix....Sheesh, has nobody read the Charlaine Harris Sookie Stackhouse books??????That is what TB is based on! The books are SO MUCH BETTER....they totally messed over some to fhe characters, and I don't think the changes improved it much in my opinion. I like the Twilight stuff, and I'm not 13 far from it lol. And there again, the books are much better. Though the first movie was better than book, got to the bad guys quicker.

The True Blood book series seems as if they were written by a 12 year old..lol! Also, they are far different from the HBO series...Lafayette dies in book 1..and we know he's an intricate part of the TV series...

Lol, the girl talks like throwing a werewolf is a big surprise for Sookie and fans. If they've even bothered reading the novels they would know it gets even stranger and bad ass, werewolves are a mere hick up to what will happen later on. I just hope they keep playing it and following the series and I cant wait for Bubba the vampire to show up next season.

I had no intentions of even remotely checking out True Blood, because the Twilight book series has ruined vampires for me. At least up until a few weeks ago, when I caught the intro song to true blood and watched a full episode, I then downloaded both seasons and I've even got my boyfriend hooked. I think its proven that twilight has put shame on to the legend of vampires by turning them into glittery fags for 13 year old girls to lust over.

The author has taken that legend and molded Vamps into some glittery day walkers, thus totally distorting the entire legend all together, for a generation of teenage girls' entertainment. the grammar and writing in the books are poor and on a 5th grade reading level. try expanding your literature horizons and you'll see that these books are garbage.

He watched all of season 2 with me on dvd and now he's addicted season 3 hahahaha theres I think Trueblood has such a sexier more exciting aspect to it aimed for adults with adult-aged characters whereas Twilight has more teenage characters. i love the books and the show. but i feel like most (not all) of the things they add to the show would be things that could happen in the books. i don't really think that bill should've proposed to sookie, because it doesn't really fit with his betrayl in the book. but i am glad that lafyette is still alive, he adds humor. and i love eric and pam. true blood is better because i think the characters have way more depth and appeal. can't wait for season three! =)

I love how people think that TrueBlood's writers are creating their plot and everything when in reality, the whole series is based off of the Southern Vampire Mysteries by Charlaine Harris. The third season of True Blood is based on (and here's a shocker) "Club Dead", the third novel of the Southern Vampire Mysteries.
P.S. Stephanie Meyer is a late comer, no one is copying her. Twilight was out in '05. The Southern Vampire Mysteries' first book, Dead Until Dark, came out in '01

It's not a new character...duh! Read the books the series is based on. Alcide Hervaux is a key character introduced in Charlaine Harris' third Sookie Stackhouse novel, "Club Dead." Season 1 covered the first novel; Season 2, the second book (though considerably straying occurred). In subsequent novels and hopefully seasons of True Blood we should be introduced to other Weres, shape-shifters, demons, fairies and witches.

TRU BLOOD BOOKS WERE WRITEN AGES AGO SO YES TWILIGHT MAY BE BETTER WRITTEN NOVELS BUT THE TRUBLOOD SERIES KICKS ARSE OVER TWILIGHT, THEY PUT WAY MORE INFO AND CHARACTER TO THE WHOLE STORY LINE.

@flordia8 True Blood is based on the Sookie Stackhouse or Southern Vampire Series. And Those novels were around before Twilight. Not everything is based upon Twilight...Next thing you know, Dracula is based on Twilight.

@clarkc02 And before Sookie there was Anita Blake. If you love Charlaine Harris' books you should check out Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake series. I've been fans of both since they started. And yes, I totally agree with you about Twilight!

the werewolf should be massive, the whole point of a werewolf is A) when they are in wolf form they are waay bigger than your average wolf, and B) in human form they are extremely powerful and dangerous.

True Blood does not follow the sookie stackhouse novels at all! They add so much crap that never even happened! Like the fact that lafayette is dead! and Bill does not propose to Sookie just to mention a few. Im still a HUGE fan though, cant wait 10 more days!!
