Im not hatin on this dude getting down. I love Panic and I would definitley be getting down if JB was playing acoustic on the sidewalk. But as far as this dude and his band goes, I listened to broken chairs I think it blows. Sounds like some whiny indie bullshit.
If I was 4 feet away from Doug Martsch jamming on an acoustic guitar on the sidewalk I would be rocking out like this guy too. Built to Spill is effing brilliant.
cut him some slack...all you fuckers who dont even know who Built to Spill is yet alone who Doug Martsch is can shut the fuck up. this kid knows whats up, so until youve listened to the band for yourself, dont pass judgement. im sure once you guys hear the talent this band has you would be doing the same thing
Yes, the duder knows the song, every word, and he's not far off, just feeling good to be with his idol. Imagine having JB play for you and a few others like that. Any panic fan can appreciate that fan's zeal. Listen to broken chairs by this band, and you'll be hooked. Little confused about the title of this, and the overlay...
What a goofy bastard. The real video is something worth watching. It's video of Doug Martsch, lead singer/guitarist of Built to Spill playing for a bunch of people that couldn't get into a sold out show. More musicians should be like this guy, they just put out there 4th or 5th major label cd about a year ago and he still recognizes that these people are the ones essentially signing his paycheck.
To me it looks like the crowd, & it is a crowd, around this guitarist looks a bit conservative. Like they were enjoying the music but not letting themselves fully enjoy it. It must've been decent cause the solo guitarist of unknown origin had gathered quite a crowd, taking pic/vid, etc (and weren't leaving, minus the passer-by's).
I love feeling uninhibited by music but at times feeling to self-conscious to let it shine...this guy let it all hang out!
actually, you're pitifully wrong. he's probably the biggest doug fan ever and i'm sure he knows way more than you or anyone around him in the video about his music and how to have fun in general. i'd say this video is footage of Cameron's 978th "rodeo", way more than you've ever seen. nobody is laughing cause they know him from the front row of every show. he just likes to have fun, deal with it.
