the music is called "flourish", and is one of the three mysterious midi files found in C:\WINDOWS\Media where the general windows sound files are also found. if you use windows (doesn't matter which version you use) you can find it.

flourish is discovered to be used for testing audio settings in the directx diagnostic tool (start -> run -> enter "dxdiag") but the uses of the other two files, known as "town" and "onestop" is still unknown.

@pangpang130, Flourish wasn't used in DXDiag until around DX6, but it was already there before that. There is a midi called IE4CHAN, which was a small version of the song. The midi's are found in the Windows 8 Developer Preview.

I know you guys put much effort into this program. But I have a suggestion that shows limited GM controllers along the notes like pitch wheel (measured with RPN), 7 volume, 11 expression and 10 pan. At least the pitch wheel display with make a huge difference to other similar MIDI visualization because many progressive pieces apply pitch wheel heavily.

Click 'Option' -> 'MIDI OUT...', then MIDI OUT configuration dialog will appear.

You have to select the MIDI OUT device of 'port A'.
