When I was a kid, we played constantly. Street hockey was the greatest game. Few rules, everyone could play and it was cheap. We played until the street lights came on and our mothers were calling us from the back porch. If the kid with the tennis ball went home, we bought a can of pop with a quarter and drank it then crushed the can and used it for a puck. It was a matter of course that you got a pair of skates and a stick for x-mas when you were 4 years old. We were crazy for hockey.
Since the beginning Canada has seen the USA as a standard to which it had to measure up or be better than--in the economy, military, socially, etc. The USA has 10 times the number of people-- roughly 300 million to Canada's, roughly, 30 million people. That means an economy, military, educated class, etc that is 10 times larger. Not some, but many, other countries have superior statistics to Canada. But Hockey is our own. No one loves hockey like a Canadian. No one plays it better.

all I'm going to say , is there is reason why they only pay 16 games year , its because football is more physically demanding then any other sport . hockey is not based on checking , you don't need to check to play hockey , hell in the younger leagues they don't check , football is based on hitting and is essential to the game , and i did a research project , football hits are harder up to 1.66 times more than hockey

It's true hockey is Canada's sport and there isn't much interest in the US for the most part. However, the north likes it a lot. That's due to the climate since the Southern and Western parts are warmer overall so most play the typical north american sports like basketball, football even soccer.
The one thing I'm wondering about is why is an American giving a motivational speech to a Canadian team? all I'm going to say , is there is reason why they only pay 16 games year , its because football is more physically demanding then any other sport . hockey is not based on checking , you don't need to check to play hockey , hell in the younger leagues they don't check , football is based on hitting and is essential to the game , and i did a research project , football hits are harder up to 1.66 times more than hockey

It's true hockey is Canada's sport and there isn't much interest in the US for the most part. However, the north likes it a lot. That's due to the climate since the Southern and Western parts are warmer overall so most play the typical north american sports like basketball, football even soccer.

the best hockey players in the world are all from Canada and Russia, we have dominated the sport from the start and breed the best, fastest, strongest players in the whole world. Americans have American football, a sport they created and no other countries compete with them in, but we have hockey, we compete with the world and come in first. Think about all the greats, nearly every great player is Canadian or Russian, hell, more Canadians were on roster for Chicago then Americans.

If you were Canadian and you lived in our country you would maybe have the slghtest idea about why we love our hockey so much. It's a sport that is ours, no one can claim it no matter how much they try. 6 Canadian teams to 24 american teams is all I have to say. :)
