@ladysasha90 an alto isn't a vocal type... Alto refers to a section in choirs that can be either mezzo sopranos or contraltos. She definitely isn't contralto so chances are she's a mezzo

I listened to her duet with Lea "A Boy like that" and I used the Audacity and I think she belted a E5. I'm not sure, this E5 can be Lea's, but it could show an improvement at her belting. Sorry for my english.

Some people are saying she is an alto but I believe that she is a kind of low mezzo soprano.

@candygurls15 Yeah I would say she's either a high alto or a low mezzo. She was able to hit that C3 and E3 with little to no effort, but Naya's voice is so confusing to place becuz she has some of the qualities of an alto and some of the qualities of a mezzo, idk.

I believe the note she sings in bad romance is E2 and also she sings other songs in octave 2, tell me if i´m wrong but that´s the way I hear it ☺ that would mean her vocal range is broader.

she is so soulful. . .out of all the cast, I believe she deserves the contract. Lea needs to continue on Broadway (and Chris). Amber also deserves a recording contract. Naya makes me wanna cry with some of her songs on Glee--especially Songbird. My fav--Valerie. . .I love her version better than (R.I.P. Amy) Winehouse. I loved Amy Winehouse, so I'm not dissing her at all, but the music and Naya's vocals blew that one away! I agree with whomever posted this--she is the best--Amber a close second

@ladysasha90 Yup! It's Naya, in the "Behind the Music" for River Deep, she said that they had her sing the higher harmony for that song. Which goes up to an F5! And also the part where she and Amber take turns improvising their riffs, the 2nd one is Naya hitting an F5 as well!
